my favorite game of all time. 10/101 found this helpful
I love this! I owned this game 25 years ago, with none of the expansions packs (as we called them back then), and it is so cool to see the game expanded in ways I never got to. It took me a little bit to get back into the simplified Sims world, but I am back in and loving it! I am running this primarily on a Steam Deck, Docked with Keyboard and Mouse and it runs like a *chefs kiss* dream!1 found this helpful
So gud, it is amazin
Sim's 1, it is a nostalgia fest even if you've never played it before. It gives off the same energy as Counter strike 1.6 even though its not a shooter or FPS. The graphics are low quality yes, but it gives off happiness and overall good vibes. Its not has clanky as you would think it would be, it holds up with the newer sims even. I rate it a solid 8/10. It is very hard to keep a sim at peak happiness, and making friends is actually tough, but it is so rewarding when something actually goes right. So far I love it and I'm no where near deep into the game at all. I highly recommend this game if you love the sims series and any other life sim games, and if you want to give another genre a chance this is a super good starting point.
Oh, this is a difficult one to review... The Sims is a timeless classic. With newer entries featuring countless expansions, spin-offs, and mechanics built upon the original formula, it's impossible to deny that the first game feels dated in certain aspects and that's coming from someone who generally dislikes the phrase "aged poorly" when discussing older games. I originally played The Sims extensively during the mid 2000s, so revisiting it through this "Legacy Collection" was a fascinating experience. Not only did I relive many of the activities I loved back then, but I also discovered plenty of secrets and mechanics I had completely missed as a kid. Even though I consider The Sims 2 and *The Sims 3* superior games overall (I haven't played The Sims 4 enough to judge it), there are still several things the original does better. Its interface is wonderfully simple and intuitive, the darker sense of humor gives it a unique identity, and the soundtrack remain hands down the best in the entire franchise. The Build Mode is considerably simpler than in later entries, but the pre-rendered isometric graphics and beautifully drawn 2D objects are simply iconic. The simulation itself is w…
