Slipspace Panic

Downloaded F2P game on a whim, proceeded to get some of the best 14 hours of fun I have had playing the game and learning the whole level in order to beat the game. For a F2P game this is more than worth it. Reminded me of old arcade games from childhood. If they made another game like this count me in. 100% recommend.

Slipspace Panic is a free to play space survival game where you have to keep your ship running while dealing with the dangers around you. The game mixes exploration, resource management and quick decisions as you try to survive in space. The main idea is that you are constantly trying to keep everything under control. You have to manage your ship, deal with problems and make sure you have enough resources to keep going. Things can go wrong quickly, so you have to react before a small problem becomes a much bigger one. The space setting works really well. The feeling of being stuck far away from safety makes even simple tasks feel more important, especially when something suddenly goes wrong. The game also has a nice mix of systems. You are not just flying around shooting things. You have to think about what resources you have, where you are going and what problems need fixing first. The biggest strength is the tension. You never feel completely safe, and having to decide what to do when several things go wrong at once can lead to some good moments. The biggest problem is that the gameplay can become repetitive.
