About STAY COOL, KOBAYASHI-SAN!: A RIVER CITY RANSOM STORY
A short while after the events of ""Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari""...Reiho High School, where the battle took place, has these Big Four, who are feared by all the others schools around.
And at the top of the Big Four, reigns only one man: Masao Kobayashi.
Here's one of his stories.
Back in middle school, a mysterious event led him to meet a boy named Mizoguchi,
who was actually a Time Regulator, going after an evil organization that has disrupted the time-space equilibrium.
After finding out that Kobayashi has a hint of mysterious power in him, Mizoguchi has them set out together to take this evil organization down.

He puts on a calm face while burning with rage inside.
He has got to go rescue his friend and bring an end to this evil organization.

One of the best games I've played with negative reviews on here. It's short, repetitive and has too much dialogue (which can be skipped for fairly minimal impact, thankfully), and the base price is a little too high, BUT if it's on sale for <$10, I'd say it's worth it. I suspect a big reason for many of the negative reviews is that people didn't know about the "chase" mechanic: basically, when you put an enemy into a "knockdown" state, but before they actually hit the ground, you can press the "Jump" button to have your character charge after them or straight up teleport to rack up some extra damage. If timed correctly, you can string several of these attacks together, which I found really satisfying. I will say that I overall agree with most if not all of the criticisms I've seen in the reviews. I guess I just wasn't as bothered with the game's flaws. If you're expecting an RCR game (given that that's in the title, I think that's pretty reasonable), you're gonna feel let down. There's no RPG elements, no grabs, and the Sci-Fi elements feel inappropriate and unnecessary. If you're willing to meet the game half-way, and accept it for what it is and not for what it technically shoul…3 found this helpful
Ita very rare for me not to finish a game, and this is my first negative review But this game isn't very fun. Going back and forth between levels with no progression just to beat up x number of guys until a boss shows up isn't fun. When you're caught in a juggle, sucks that i can't get out of it. The story is a mess. The pro is that I like the teleport kicks when you airborne the enemies...1 found this helpful
No real instructions on what to do in this game. If you do something out of order you can find yourself in a glitch where there is no possible ending. Very poorly designed game. No walkthroughs or guides and very little online at all if you can sit through it for over an hour. I’ve been a huge fan of the Kunio series. I love the old Kunio games and the new ones. This one seems to be purposely bad. It’s unfortunate. I’ve played plenty of worse games in my lifetime so I am going to be generous. Doesn’t mean I don’t strongly not recommend this game because it’s a disaster even on sale. 3/10
The game is very fun. The format to get boss fight is horrible. Overall very bad design
The worst game I have ever played in my life.
I've played a lot of brawlers and RCR games but... what the !$#% am I even playing here? Between picking random items to care about and define my character (that had a default name of Catherine even before picking the gender), to crossing dimensional rifts, to flying and fighting alien saucers, to cat saves, to fighting hovering rocket launchers, to a boss that is a pufferfish teddy bear face looking thing...I believe the developers are just trolling us. The brawling isn't really bad, but there are a lot of problems with it. Wiffing is way to easy, and you can find yourself flying across the screen way too many times (and out of the current area because of it). Add in that there are ares that are separated by gaps that are instant death that you can fly over, and not be able to get back. to the other side..but it doesn't matter. Why doesn't it matter? Because this game has 0 to do with actual exploration, and 100% to do with killing a certain number of each colored baddie. Once you hit the number of baddies you have to knock out of that color, then you are met with the baddie color boss on the next screen and every screen you go to after that....until you beat them. So basical…
