About Stoic
Welcome to Stoic; a short yet challenging platforming game with precise physics controls and punishing level building. In Stoic, you control an oddly spherical boulder with the objective of finding purpose, whether that be climbing an insurmountable mountain, or just biding your time enjoying the scenery.Stoic loosely follows the story of Zeno of Citium, a man widely renowned as the founder of the Stoic school of philosophy. After surviving a terrible shipwreck on your wealthy merchant ship, you must now find purpose after becoming a sluggish and cumbersome boulder.More of an achievement hunter? Stoic has a total of 9 unlockable skins, with some featuring moments from Zeno's life or remembering his legacy. Can you find them all?

I like the snowman
Congrats on your first steam release! As you can tell by my play time, I didn't get very far in the game; this is because I couldn't really understand the main mechanic of the game, sometimes I'd chain parries for a while and then not understand why it failed, other times I couldn't trigger a parry and not understand why. I like the art of the game a lot and I can tell a lot of care went into it, which is why this is a positive review; but my one wish is for like a textual explanation of the main mechanic. Some theories I had while trying to get it to work past the first jump were: - Is it based on the actual sprite of the rock, do I have to click the light part once and then the dark part the second time? - Is it based on the direction I click from the rock, like can I not pick the same direction twice? - Do you have to drag it out further and further each time in order for it to work? I might just be stupid, but I think this game would really benefit from a little bit more tutorialization of the main mechanics, I would be happy to pick it up again and get to see the rest of the game past the first level- but I don't really know why what I'm doing works/doesn't work for moveme…
Cool jump mechanic that took some time getting used to. Wrist hurt
Challenging and rewarding bite-size climber. Aesthetically pleasing and mechanically sound
It's peak
stinko has a special talent here, this is a hidden gem in the "jump-king-like" realm, so fun!!
