What can I even say about Tales of Symphonia? Honestly, chances are you’re either already a hardcore Tales fan and you know exactly why people love this game… or you’re completely new to the series, reading reviews and wondering whether this old title is still worth your time. And if you’re the second person, then wholeheartedly: Go for it. Especially if you love classic fantasy JRPGs. Just one thing I really want to make clear: don’t play Symphonia expecting the same feeling as the much later Tales games. To me, there is a very clear difference between this older era of Tales and what the series eventually became. Symphonia belongs to that classic style of Tales that I personally love. You have the overworld map. Cities and towns. Side quests. A group of characters going on a journey together. That wonderful feeling of leaving one place, travelling across the world and discovering what comes next. It is simply a very classic fantasy JRPG experience. And I mean that as a huge compliment. You’ll often see people praising the story and characters, and I understand why. I enjoyed the story a lot. This was my first time playing the game ive played it 80 hours and was so muc fun!!!
I started this game years a go as a child. However, I never got the opportunity to complete the story. I'm enjoying exploring the dungeon and learning the lore of the land I thought was gone forever.
