Loco Motive

Doesn't seem to decide when it will allow you to take something before you need it or not, so I encountered multiple scenarios where I got stuck because I already checked an item I needed, didn't let me pick it up at the time thinking oh it's just a scenery joke," only to be told by the hint system "Hey remember that thing? You can go pick it up now." It doesn't help when there is a bit of moon logic to the puzzles when you don't have all the items you need, especially when they let you carry around other items you don't need for forwever. It is Incredibly infuriating. It's also not that funny despite it clearly being th main aim.

So unfortunate title... I'll just say it out. Overall, I didn't like the game virtually at all. Teaser movie of this title is awesome and got me intrigued. There are indeed good and fun parts in the game, but this teaser, well here comes something you might have guessed. It takes a big bunch of the good stuff and bundles it in. Teaser honestly shows gameplay footage to the last 10mins of the game, seriously. And it wraps the best parts in one minute clip. Yeah that ain't good. Graphics and animations and art style is very good. Zero issues there. Music was ok too. Now voice acting was mostly awesome. However then like one of the main protagonists Herman... God awful and annoying. And here we got to the really bad parts of the game. Many of the characters are just there with good voice acting, but then like Herman. When character starts the very purposely made so-to-say comical and rhetorical "I'm the greatest detective ever" loud mouthing, game might give a small smirk. However when it goes balls to the walls and character honestly says something like this about 1000 times in the game. No it seriously isn't funny in the slightest. Super inrteresting game play and graphics, funny aswell

Excellent point and click whodunit. Graphics are great and the pixel art animations are really well done. Story has some fun twists and turns. The dialouge overall is very well done and will have you laugh more than once. The puzzles were generally straight forward with a few outliers that weren't super clear. The in game "hint hotline" provides adequate hints in a non spoilery fashion that was quite helpful sending you on the right track. This is an adventure game i gladly recommend to any point and click enjoyer out there. Or just someone who want's to solve a murder mystery.

The game has Excellent voice acting. It is fairly short though.

Wanna become a silly 'lil detective? Don't answer that, OF COURSE YOU DO! This game is funny and charming! The pixel art is detailed and colorful with artistic noir flair and playful animations. The scene transitions are artistic and fun while keeping you on your toes. The voice acting is such a joy to listen to and full of emotion. The characters are thought out and blend well together. The writing style is light, playful and fun. The challenges are fun in a creative sense without feeling annoying. There is a thought-out 'help line' for those that enjoy hints, and for those who don't want hints it simply serves as some decor (and even some extra silly dialog). The game storyline and playthrough often felt like watching along with your favorite goofy sitcom. Overall, I really had a great time playing this game. I giggled a lot and even clapped during the end credits (yeahyeahyeah). What an absolutely silly, simple and yet riveting game. Genuinely hoping to see a sequel in the future!! p.s. I <3 Agent M
