I knew from the beginning that this game was going to be a waste of time since it is titled "The Attic" and the first thing you do is go down a hole into a sewer. The plot is... I don't even know what the plot is other than a boy is missing. I managed to find an arcade token and "play" the Walking Man arcade game which again, made no sense. So after wandering around some more (the map is useless btw) I got bored and quit. Rating: 1/102 found this helpful
"The Attic" is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This is yet another Unreal asset flip kitbash, the developer took a bunch of other people's game assets, put his own name on them, and dumped them on a first person adventure game blueprint/pack from the Unreal Marketplace, then paid his $100 Steam direct fee. It's a basic first person horror jumpscare asset flip adventure game, one of thousands of these on Steam, all of which are awful. So, the game might look better than you'd expect from an amateur project, but this is because it's partially or completely made up of stock assets, "borrowed" from asset stores and free asset websites. Very little in this game is truly the creation of the "developer", it's just a bunch of rearranged assets. While there's no up front price for this asset flip, the other problem with asset …1 found this helpful
It's just a house...
I got frustrated before I could finish and can't really offer a reason to go into this one beyond the amusement that the absolute bizarre nature of this game provides. It's different at least. I recommend if you like weird niche horror games with a very strange atmosphere.
This game is utter non-sense. It's janky, awkward and there are more than a couple of bugs. It's also incredibly captivating, in a strange and just plain weird way. I was fully ready to give it a thumbs down but upon completion I think it may actually be a surrealist masterpiece.
