The House in the Forest is a short, first-person exploration game about a family who moved out to go live a lonely life. You'll play as a person who got lost on the way back to his house ends up discovering clean but an abandoned house.

A free unity asset map with a house plonked in it. Its exactly the same asset map that was featured in the game 'Bird' which is also on Steam. _k.y. is a Japanese developer who made Okaeri published by Chilla Arts. Why _k.y. who has demonstrated a certain amount of expertise in programming and coding now feels justified in hood swindling customers with free asset flips and paper thin, poorly translated, gaming concepts is beyond me? Honestly, I once had to have root canal and had the dentist inject my gums 30 times. I was still able to comprehensively convey my messages better than what this game can. The only way this game could improve is by adding matches and a fuel can to it... Poor guy (Referring to myself) .. .. .. .. .. .. In all honesty, this is an enjoyable few minutes, even if you do have to make some educated guesses on what the diary entries are trying to convey. I would definitely buy it on deep discount only though.

The House in the Forest Positives: + Acceptable graphics + Nice nature and house + The music is fairly good + The idea is ok + Run function Negatives: - Poorly told story - Not much to see or explore - The fog - Framerate issues - The bugs - Hard to read some of the diaries - Invisible walls - No jump function - Early access at best, feels very unfinished - Very slow walking speed - Footstep sound are way to loud - Everything feels a bit empty - Extremely short (15 min) Total Score: 3.5/10
You can walk around the house, you can walk in and read diaries. This is something like I wouldn't call it game but abandoned project of game. Gameplay 0.5-1h max.
