About The Last Cargo

The situation of our character is unique. His beliefs, imposed onto him, have limited his movement in the form of a wheelchair. To survive you must explore floor after floor looking for food, ammunition and many other helpful items.
The main theme of The Last Cargo is indoctrination, whose purpose is to control the way an individual perceives and evaluates reality. Your goal is to recover autonomy and subjectivity for the eponymous cargo.

- Every game is different due to unique randomizing system
- Consequences and Variables mechanics influencing many additional factors in the game
- 18 perks (adaptations) each with 3 stages of development
- 6 different endings dependent on the player's choices
- 3 difficulty levels and optional permadeath mode
- It's not an easy game (draw conclusions and learn from mistakes)

Players praise The Last Cargo's interesting mechanics, mysterious atmosphere, and multiple endings with meaningful choices that encourage replays, noting that the simplified control option makes the experience much more accessible than the original tank controls. However, opinions sharply divide on difficulty and design philosophy—some appreciate the well-balanced challenge that doesn't feel cheap, while others find the game frustratingly opaque and punishing, requiring trial-and-error or external research to understand mechanics, with several players feeling the experience is tedious rather t
Good game with interesting mechanics ! Rather frustrating if you chose original "tank controls" but perfectly manageable if you choose "simplified controls" released in the Halloween 2021 patch. Concerning difficulty, it's in my opinion well dosed. There is a tutorial which gives you the minimum you need to know in order to play, but then you are not constantly led by the hand. You'll have to face some die and retry, but not so many if you play in "Normal". I never felt frustration during my playthrough. 6 different endings, I only got one for now and you can choose new perks with tokens ingame for your following playthroughs, which is cool. Really nice ambience and mysterious story, these kind of games have their own universe and bring a refreshing originality ! Will surely try their next game "Space of one drama" when it is out.9 found this helpful
The Last Cargo is a top-down survival horror game with rogue-like elements and the ability to tailor the difficulty to your preference. As a "cargo carrier", your main goal is to survive several increasingly difficult, procedurally-generated floors in order to deliver your "cargo" to its destination. The story is very interesting, though it's only told through text dialogue in brief cutscenes between floors. The dialogue changes depending on decisions made throughout the game as well, and there are a total of six endings to unlock depending on these choices. There's no way around it, The Last Cargo is a very difficult game. Not only does it start out hard on the most trivial of settings, but if you're a glutton for punishment you can even add in permadeath and deeper survival options such as hunger and thirst meters. That being said, much of the game's hardship is due largely to clunky tank controls and the fact that the character's wheelchair gets stuck on everything, rather than actual threats caused by the environment or monsters. I personally cannot count the times that, within the mere hour that I played, I was injured or suffered death due to one of the wheels on the chair g…8 found this helpful
Dark Souls fans who like top-down games are probably going to like this. Me, not so much. I wouldn't let the negative reviews fool you, this is an amazing game with things in it that some would consider problems and others would consider a hardcore feature. You are operating completely blind and are expected to get lucky then die and get lucky then die over and over again to understand how the game works or watch a video on it. It's not easy without external research and even then it's still a pretty hardcore experience. This seems like the sort of game I don't want to play alone because there's this sense of progression I wanted that just didn't feel like it was coming fast enough for me, and I've played for at least more than an hour offline as well. One day I will play through this game because the art direction and atmosphere have me completely sold it's just hard and a bit tense lol Either way I think you should buy it. P.S - please finish Enamel1 found this helpful

The only horror part (darkness) is completely negligible (candles and flashlight). There are small dumb enemies that blow up, sometimes at random, and one unkillable enemy that pursues you. There are some neat ideas, like the wheelchair movement and your aim being locked to where you could actually turn in a wheelchair, also you can't aim and shoot *and* move at the same time. Unfortunately, the game is just not fun. Very boring.
