About The Red Strings Club
In this cyberpunk thriller, you'll bartend, craft genetic implants, and impersonate corporate executives to dismantle a sinister mind-control system disguised as a happiness cure. What sets it apart is its unique blend of narrative choices and quirky mechanics—manipulating emotions through cocktails and pottery while wrestling with philosophical questions about free will versus enforced contentment.
The professed altruistic corporation Supercontinent Ltd is on the verge of releasing Social Psyche Welfare: a system that will eliminate depression, anger and fear from society. However, the bartender of a clandestine club and a freelance hacker don't regard this evolution as an improvement but as brainwashing. Alongside unwitting company employees and a rogue empathy android, the duo will pull all the strings they can to bring down this scheme.

controls are weird on a controller and side games are annoying1 found this helpful
It's not my type of game, too slow pace.
surprisingly a really good cyberpunk story to the point that i would consider it a staple of the genre within gaming. like every good cyberpunk narrative it has a beautiful aesthetic and uses an absurdly tragic interpretation of the future to pose deep questions. as much as i would have loved to seen a deeper exploration and or a direct thesis on the ethical dilemmas asked in the game, it does enough by asking them in them in the first place and places a mirror in front of you by requiring you to give your answers to them. overall, pretty cool game.
I recently replayed this game to 100% it and while I remember liking it a lot, I was taken aback by how much it affected me even on a second playthrough. My only complaint about this game is that I wish it was longer. Not because the story felt incomplete or left me hanging, but because I really enjoyed my time with it and wanted more of the characters and world. It made me feel things and become attached to the characters in the short time I spent with this game. It also lead me to seriously consider my views on ethics and technology without feeling preachy or judgy about it. The gameplay is great and the simplicity of the drink mechanics means it isn't punishing to try new things. I look forward to playing the developers other games!
As you fall to your death, you have only seconds left on the phone with the man you love. Which frightens you more: that the world will suffer because you chose not to reveal the truth, or that he will never know you loved him?
Very enjoyable narrative experience. It is short but I feel like there are things I missed on my first playthrough and I will definitely be revisiting/replaying it in the future. I really recommend going into it blind/not spoiling yourself with solutions, you can always go a different route next time. :3
