Ahahah! Oh my goodness! This game...! I honestly didn't expect it to be THIS fun. Okay, okay so... From my experience and understanding... I feel like this game is showing you what happens if you do all the "right/honorable" choices and/or "dark underhanded" choices. This is the first time I went against my own morals and actually been very bad. And... It was... Both interesting and painful... Because I would never do that in rl, but...! It's a game... So I am forgiven lol. Well what you do is... This is somewhat of a "go here" and there are "events" and raising relationship points for people and the like. It's NOT HARD! They tell you stuff in the beginning and remind you throughout the game... In case you somehow forgot the simplest of things. The fun part is how far will you take it/go. You see... You can have an early ending by choosing a "romance" option. Marriage. That's not a spoiler..... If you know anything about these kinds of societies back then, you also know what that entails... Had a great experience playing this! I feel I learned stuff, but in a fun way. Being dyscalculetic (having blindness for numbers) I was a bit nervous playing this "customs and trading-game", but it proved both fun and possible. The story is also interesting, although I feel that since I played it "safe" and spent money on ANYTHING (in fear of not being able to pay the bank), I might have missed out on cool story lines and characters. But that is how it goes when you just choose to say: "STAY AWAY FROM ME I NEED TO CONCENTRATE ON PAYING MY DEBTS!" So I guess I might have missed out on a lot of fun! (PS: NEVER thought that I would have fun playing this sort of game, but I did ;) Ended up with TONS of "status" and lots of money, so I felt like I succeeded, all though my character ended up unmarried. THAT is how "boring" I ended up playing. I am very curious on how other people fared and what they experienced. Botttom line: This game is very charming and really makes you think! This expertise is evident in the authenticity of the storytelling. I spent nearly 11 hours fully immersed in this game and enjoyed every moment. Stepping into the shoes of Madam Sem (an eerie coincidence, as I often shorten my own surname to Sem!) made the experience feel personal and engaging. I managed to grow my boutique to success, reaching ending number 17. However, this was a bit confusing, as the official website mentions only 15 different endings. It might be helpful for the developers to clarify or update this information for players. Along the way, I unlocked 12 out of the 18 available images, so while I didn’t see everything, I feel I’ve made significant progress. An interesting game that makes you empathise with the plight of women of the time frame. Well written with nice art and animations. There appear to be quite a few different endings and paths too. Some of the endings are quiet abrupt but otherwise it is enjoyable while it lasts.

Overall I would say that although this isn't specifically a romance game, the story is incredibly well written. You play as a upper middle class widow who's husband had left her a boutique. As the story progresses you very easily come to understand the economic strife in the area. While there's only 2 romances they're well meaning and interesting, but the endings make sense for what it is. The writers clearly put a lot of thought into the game and drew on historical references. Poverty is exposed and isn't swept under the covers. Is this game as elaborate as abolition a minute in power, no but if i were to compare to others it's similar to regency love. Bad choices aren't sugar coated, avoid reason and well... The only complaint i have is that sometimes the game forgets events such as if i didn't attend the party, the blonde himbo will still apologise for spilling a drink on me. Not to mention i would prefer if there was a guide, to achieve all the endings or at least uncover some secrets, sorry to say that i feel like i'm always missing something. I was really positively surprised by this game! The gameplay loop is satisfying, and I really enjoy the writing, the characters, and the historical context. I wish it was a bit longer, but other than that it's lovely! Also, you can pet the cat.
