Everything that SRPG could possibly be

TROUBLESHOOTER: Abandoned Children is the first season of a turn-based strategy SRPG that takes place in the world of Troubleshooter.

Valhalla, the unstable nation

Valhalla is a free trading nation erected by three world powers for their own benefits after the world war. In an attempt to control the nation, the three world powers banned the army from Valhalla. Due to these circumstances, public order in Valhalla is always unstable and thus after ten years the Valhalla government made a bold decision.

The birth of Troubleshooter

The Valhalla government granted civilians the right to investigate and arrest criminals in order to lower the rising crime rate. People call them Troubleshooter.

The beginning of your and everyone else's stories

10 years have passed since the introduction of the troubleshooter system. Albus, a 20-year-old young man, becomes an official troubleshooter. Albus first starts his company on his own but soon takes in many colleagues as he solves more cases. All these new members of the company have their own motivations and stories. You will be experiencing a variety of missions in Valhalla through their stories.

Specialized classes. Over 1000 masteries. More than 500 additional masteries

All characters in Troubleshooter have their own unique classes. Each character can rank up to the upper class, and the role of your character changes according to the class.

All characters in Troubleshooter can acquire various masteries according to their levels and classes. Furthermore, you can activate additional effects by combinations of masteries. Utilizing this, you can make a character for your unique strategy.

Such masteries can be acquired by leveling your character up. However, in most cases, you can acquire masteries from enemies. In other words, you can take your enemies' unique traits and apply them to your characters.

More than 100 unique missions

There are more than 100 unique missions in Troubleshooter. All missions are designed independently, and all of them have their own unique circumstances.

More than 500 unique cut scenes

Troubleshooter uses more than 500 cut scenes to portray the story.

The creativity SRPG can have

As new characters join your company, playable content will be unlocked according to their roles. For example, if you recruit a hunter character, you will be able to tame beasts. You will be able to craft drones if you recruit engineers.

It's a JRPG/TRPG with XCOM style gameplay and not the other way around. Don't go into this expecting a 1:1 XCOM clone. The two more important note for getting into Troubleshooter is: The start of the game can feel a bit of a slow buildup for some people and the other is TWEAK YOUR DIFFICULTY. I heard everything: that the game is too easy or too hard. I would say it's a bit easy at the start but ramps up slowly. HOWEVER you can change the difficulty settings at any time and with like 6 main difficulty levels and PLENTY of optional settings you can tailor it to your taste. If you give this game time to show it's strenghts you will find a great strategy game with one of the best character building systems i've ever seen, with ARPG style loot drops a pretty good story (altough it might be hard to follow all the branches of it) and likeable characters. After completing this game 2 times and once 100%ing it, i can only recommend it to any TRPG/JRPG fans that don't mind a slow buildup. It dethroned XCOM 1-2 as my top game for the genre and i love XCOM. It's still a bit of a hidden gem despite more and more people seem to notice it. I have a feeling that Troubleshooter will be a well …

This is one of my favorite games. If you enjoy turn based games at all I'm sure you'll enjoy this, there are plenty of characters each with a unique kit that can develop in different ways based on how you build them. The story I enjoyed and there are plenty of missions and side quests to do. The combat is in my opinion the best of this genre, I particularly enjoyed the longer missions. I can't recommend this game enough, try it! I really look forward to their next release and can't wait for it.

What if you made a tactics RPG about anime bounty hunters with superpowers in a sci-fi near-future with cyberpunk-ish elements but not fully committed to the grittiness of that sub-genre because of the anime aesthetic? Whether you'll like this game depends on if you answer that question with "that sounds awesome" or "that sounds lame." Me? I always appreciate a change of pace when playing a game in the genres I enjoy, and this game's tone is so distinctly different from every strategy/tactics game I've played the last couple of years, that I actually found it refreshing. At times it felt like playing as a different Spriggan agency in a different city in Trails Through Daybreak, except not that focused on investigation and support requests and focusing mostly on combat, and adding mechanics for having to pay your employees and pay rent for your office space and so on.

I'm not the kind of guy that posts a lot of reviews but I feel like Troubleshooter Abandoned Children is so criminally underrated that I had to. This is truly a hidden gem that is generously priced that I would recommend to anyone that likes the Xcom style combat and dosen't mind the anime esthetics. The story is quite good aswell, you can tell that the devs from Dandylion created this as a project of passion. I will be keeping my eyes out for a hopefully Troubleshooter 2 that I've heard might be in the works! Do not hesitate, jump in and start troubleshooting :D
