Game isnt done yet but has a lot of potential, WHAT IT NEEDS: more items, more quest, more classes, bigger maps and more bosses. Maybe ultimate or "super ability" during combat sometimes? Better terrain tactics on the battle grid? More vision and a larger playfield on the battle grid? Randomly generated traps or random events on the battle grid? | What it doesn;t need: your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ opinion, game is not done yet.

Not bad for a one man developed game

"Valley Knights" is a very poor quality and objectively failed attempt to make an RPG with turn based tactical combat on a hex grid. The focus is on dark gritty RPG stuff, but the technical delivery is of such poor quality that gamers found themselves less engaged with understanding the game and more engaged in wondering why such a poor quality product could get published on Steam at all. Spoiler: Steam Direct only costs $100. The graphics aren't great. That's understandably be turn off for a lot of gamers, and it's a big contributor to the failure of the game to attract gamers despite having no up-front cost. Gaming is a primarily visual medium, and if developers want to succeed, they must understand that it's not an area for compromise. You deserve better than compromises. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. Valley Knights takes the familiar structure of a tactical fantasy RPG and gives it a darker roguelike identity, placing survival and uncertainty at the center of the adventure. Developed and published by Long Road Games, it sends players into Vlenfir Valley after a mysterious explosion at an ancient tower causes the sun to stop rising. What follows is a world trapped in seemingly permanent darkness, where monsters, ruined settlements, strange encounters, and desperate survivors contribute to a convincing sense that civilization is gradually falling apart. Rather than controlling a single predetermined protagonist, players recruit heroes and assemble a party capable of surviving the dangers ahead. These characters can gain experience, learn skills, acquire talents, and discover manuals that provide additional abilities. Character development therefore becomes one of the strongest incentives to keep exploring. A newly recruited adventurer may initially feel expendable, but after surviving several difficult battles and receiving useful upgrades, losing that same character can become a significant setback.
