V3: Invisible Raid is a love-letter to Armored Core, sampling G1-G3 most heavily but nodding to every generation. Its visuals and sound FX most closely suggest G2 and G3. Any fan of the AC series will be very happy with V3, and I hope many people support this great creator (RRR). Mech customization in V3 is significantly simpler than in the AC series, as is controlling the mech. The intent seems to be a newcomer-friendly game which also has plenty of depth. AC players may be put off by the simple customization at first - persevere! There are layers to discover and enjoy. As of this review, there are 21 missions (counting the qualifying test) and 21 Arena opponents. Gratifyingly, the Arena enemies are mostly quite well-designed and challenging. The amount of content is somewhat small compared to a main AC game, but keep in mind that V3 was mostly made by one incredibly skilled and dedicated person. At this point, I hope the game gets more content, though I find its current contents very satisfying and replayable. I really wish RRR had a Discord or other way to connect! Again, AC series fans absolutely can't go wrong with V3: IR. Wait for a sale if you must, but definitely…

This game is short if you aren't going to try to S rank all missions. Be aware of that (5 hours played to finish all missions and even S ranked some of them) If you're ok with spending on a game that short, I really do recommend it because it scratches the old-school Armored Core style itch. It has a more forgiving system and WAY better controls and feel of movement while still feeling more like AC 1-3 than the smoother, later AC games.

Hey you, yes you, did you like Armored Core 1-3? Were you disappointed with how 'modernized' Armored Core 6 was? Are you okay with a mech game using weaponized bomb diffusal robots and quad-copter drones instead of skyscraper tall mecha? If you answered "Yes" to at least one of these questions - play the demo now. Did you enjoy the demo? If yes, go buy this game, there's WAY more on offer beyond the demo.
