About Vulcan Sacrifice
Play as lumberjack Bart Waffles and journey to the god Vulcan to request his aid in stopping the volcano Melboreth from destroying Anvil.
Vulcan Sacrifice presents a new myth on an old god. A volcano awakens and threatens the town of Anvil. The eruption is imminent. The town elders call upon Bart Waffles, a local lumberjack, to travel into the skeleton filled mountains to find Vulcan, the Roman god of forges & volcanoes and the only being powerful enough to stop the volcano. But the cost is great. Bart must sacrifice much to secure the safety of his home, and what's worse, the volcano continues to rumble.
The story will take Bart through many perils toward his destiny, which more and more looks as doomed as his humble mountain home.

Vulcan Sacrifice is a 2D retro pixel platformer where you jump around and avoid skeletons and stuff. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this on an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. The developer made this free after initially making it a paid product.. That's noble, I guess, but the quality is still too low for me to recommend this to anyone.6 found this helpful

Игра 'Vulcan Sacrifice' - это настоящее испытание для терпения и нервов. С первых же минут ощущается, что разработчики решили сделать ставку на хардкор, и это у них получилось с лихвой. Управление поначалу кажется неуклюжим, враги - невероятно живучими, а каждое столкновение с ними - настоящей лотереей. Однако, как только начинаешь втягиваться, появляется некий азарт. Постепенно открываешь для себя нюансы боевой системы, учишься предугадывать движения противников и находить их слабые места. Графика, хоть и не поражает технологичностью, обладает своим мрачным шармом, создавая гнетущую атмосферу. Прогрессия персонажа нетороплива, но каждое улучшение ощущается как долгожданная победа. Это игра не для всех, но те, кто пройдет через ее тернии, наверняка оценят глубину и удовлетворение от преодоления казалось бы непреодолимых трудностей.
