Vulcan Sacrifice

Vulcan Sacrifice is a 2D retro pixel platformer where you jump around and avoid skeletons and stuff. They chose to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. Resolution and controls are locked. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. The game only displays in 4:3 pillarboxed aspect ratio. It's possible they developed this on an old CRT they found in a dumpster, or this game has been specifically designed for people gaming on PC's from 1995... either way, this isn't really acceptable in the modern era of PC gaming. The developer made this free after initially making it a paid product.. That's noble, I guess, but the quality is still too low for me to recommend this to anyone.

I felt nostalgic for some reason while playing this game. Good gameplay, music and a good story. 1o/1o

Постепенно открываешь для себя нюансы боевой системы, учишься предугадывать движения противников и находить их слабые места. Графика, хоть и не поражает технологичностью, обладает своим мрачным шармом, создавая гнетущую атмосферу. Прогрессия персонажа нетороплива, но каждое улучшение ощущается как долгожданная победа. Это игра не для всех, но те, кто пройдет через ее тернии, наверняка оценят глубину и удовлетворение от преодоления казалось бы непреодолимых трудностей.
