Video Gameplay https://youtu.be/LFR600G_bB4?t=2415 Ok, I liked the witching tower when it was released and had high hopes for this one. Now this is a totally different animal it's a Fantasy action game that boils down to destroy certain objects and survive the waves of enemies. It is fun, has a selection of four weapon sets each bringing something different to the game. I imagine this is mainly for when the MP part is finished and you can load up with three other players all doing your part to survive the mission. Problem is the single player is frustrating at times and the weapons need more weight added to them. Firing the pistol feels weak and you really have no idea what you're hitting. The drill though is awesome and I'd love just two of them instead. They have limited ammo or over heat so you have to be wise to what you're using as the waves of enemies are thick and fast. The other weapon choices are the sword and shield warrior, the mage with staff and health and the bow with different types of arrows. There does not seem to be leveling up at this stage or bonus extras. You do get health from …4 found this helpful
+ Price? - Waveshooter-esque - Not very immersive. - Boring Gameplay. - Terrible Swordplay 1/5 I try to find something positive to say about every game I review. At the current stage of EA that this game is in, I just can't really find anything positive to say about it. It's swordplay is bad, it's random drill weapon is bad, the actual game play is like a mix of the worst VR game type to exist - Wave shooters. Combined with something that wants to be a Hack and Slash RPG, without the leveling up or fun elements. The swordplay is nonexistent, there's no collision or anything that makes you feel like you're actually having a sword fight. --- I'll play through the entirety of this when it gets fully released, and re-review it. But until then I just cannot reccomend it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_3NgNgSnHw This game did not have a lot a content even with the small price tag. 3 levels is hardly what I would call a complete game as you can essentially "complete" this game in less than an hour. That being said, I had a lot of fun during my first play through. While I didn't like the wand and the drill was really weird, the bow was so much fun! I have yet to try the game on nightmare mode but I would be interested to see how hard this game can be. The thing we need to remember is that this is in Early Access, and for a game that is cheap and still under development I can still recommend this game. It will have Online Co-op at some point which I can see being really enjoyable with some strategy coming into play. Once you have beaten the whole game you can still go back and try to beat your times and place on the global leaderboards. I encourage you to check the Early Access notes from the devs and see what they are planning. If they include more maps and game modes then this game could be a huge success. Keep in mind that the price of this game will likely increase in the future as more content is added. I have high hopes for this game but …1 found this helpful
I cannot believe how good the first Witching Tower was compared to this so-called sequel. It is just a cheesy wave killer with very poor melee. You just keep slashing frantically to kill all the skeletons as fast as possible, There are many other melee games out there now far superior to this one. I know these Dev's are very capable, so if this game improves drastically, I will update my review to positive.
Since Witching Tower was such a great puzzle game, when this came along I grabbed it. Very little innovation here. Just a wave fighting game, nothing to get excited about...I would pass (but do grab Witching Tower).
Really great game but it needs gameplay optimization , i can literally finish the game without hitting a single enemy ! Its an arcade MOBA , with fast paced gameplay and nice weapon combos but still without multiplayer Would recommend 100% , there will be multiplayer support !
