About Wizard's Way Out

After hearing a voice from a well, an underachieving Wizard trips and falls into its depths. Deep underground awaits a forgotten prison, and the only way out is to get past the slumbering guards.
You Can't Do This:
- You can't teleport
- You can't throw fireballs
- You kinda suck at the whole Wizard thing

You Can Do This:
- You can Push things away from you!
- You can Pull things toward you!
- You have an awesome Ratbug best friend you just met!
And You Do It Like This:
- Choose between simple mouse controls, full keyboard controls, or full controller support, for maximum comfy couch puzzle action!
- A bunch of levels that will squeeze your brain!
- Easy to learn, hard to master gameplay that will test your logic!
- Deal with the slumbering guards before they wake up!
So you flunked out of Sorcery School. And sure, you fell into a well because you heard a strange voice and lost your balance. But that won't stop you this time. This time you will succeed. What Steam players say

Wizard's Way Out is praised for its satisfying puzzle design, fitting atmosphere, and strong presentation that punches above its weight for the price, with players appreciating how challenging levels feel fair rather than unfair. However, some players find the Sokoban-style mechanics with strict movement limits restrictive and unsatisfying compared to reward-based systems, and the linear progression means getting stuck on a puzzle can halt progress entirely, leaving some wanting more variety in the core mechanics.

What do I want from a puzzle game? The puzzles have to be logical, the ambiance has to be fitting, the game play has to be snappy, but most important, solving the tougher puzzles has to feel rewarding. Wizard's Way Out has all of that going for it (and more, if you ask me). I'm not great at puzzle games and the way I approach them is to play them until I get stuck and then move on to other things, never to return. I got stuck 4 times in this game, and came back every time. I just beat this game a few minutes ago and the feeling I got from doing so was awesome. I absolutely have my fingers crossed that Kikimora keeps developing, hard as it may be to get a real chance from a wider audience, as they definitely put love in this product (and, I also want a sequel, haha!).1 found this helpful
We are left to guess the patterns and behaviors of the monsters. Its like never having heard of chess and then having all the pieces placed and expecting to know what each one does.
is real fun
This is a very nice little puzzle game. Level design was right on the mark. While challenging, it never felt unfair. Music and art were both great. For the price this game is hitting above it's weight class. The only con was I wanted more at the end.
I didn't enjoy this game. Instead of interesting puzzle mechanics & level designs, the game instead uses straightforward Sokoban-style mechanics and uninteresting level layouts, combined with a strict movement limit that feels unenjoyable in practice. I much preferred how the game Dungeon and Puzzles handled things, by using a par move system instead of a strict movement limit. That is, you're rewarded for reaching or beating par, rather than feeling punished for exceeding it. Such a design feels much better in practice. Other than that, Wizard's Way Out also has the typical puzzle game problem of a linear puzzle progression, which means that if you're stuck on a level, you're stuck, period. And finally, the game just felt low-polish in some ways. Not recommended. EDIT: According to a dev response, the game received some gameplay updates which might have alleviated some of my issues with the game. However, since I refunded the game, I can't test these changes myself.
