There isn’t much need to spend time explaining the gameplay mechanics because they’re very straightforward and never really ask much of you. You simply shoot falling cubes with your gun and try to stop them from reaching a pedestal at the bottom. Your goal is to survive until the timer runs out, but the moment a single cube makes it to the bottom, it’s game over and you’re sent back to try again. What really gives the game its personality is the music. Each stage has a basic track playing in the background, while most of the sound comes from the cubes you destroy. Every hit adds something different, whether it’s a choir, bells, flutes, or even something more unusual like a sharp, almost birdlike shriek in the later stages. You’re not exactly composing masterpieces, but the sounds blend together nicely, and it always feels cohesive no matter how chaotic things get. As you move forward, the levels gradually stretch out with longer survival times and more varied cube patterns. The strategy never gets complicated, though.
