About Zero-Point

As Captain of a Star Federation cruiser, lead your crew and ship to victory!

 • Take realtime command over your ship, the SFS Peregrine, and her crew
 • Give your crew orders and watch as they carry them out inside your ship, from repairing damaged modules to fighting off hostile intruders
 • Encounter random events in each sector of space that you visit, from peaceful places to risky nebulae, GLF patrol ships and bounty-hungry mercenaries
 • Arm up with an arsenal of weapons ranging from beams to lasers, torpedoes and more

As Captain, you'll have choices to make as well...

 • Will you save or destroy that stricken enemy ship?
 • Board a shady-looking pirate outpost or steer well clear?
 • Help out that poor station with a giant crab infestation?

Thanks to an immersive 3D view of the interior of your ship, all the information you need as Captain is at your disposal!

 • Assess damage and make tactical decisions on the fly with the help of time dilation
 • With a Teleporter, beam your crew aboard enemy ships to assault them from within
 • And... keep an eye on your ship's cat?! (You better not let him die!)

Zero-Point is currently in Early Access. Thanks for supporting us, Captains!

What does the Early Access version contain?

Currently Zero-Point includes over 150 different sectors of space to discover, with a wide variety of weapons to use and hostile ships to encounter, plus five different races of crew (Star Federation, GLF, Civilian, Pirate and Kinos).

You'll travel through 4 star systems on your mission (planned to expand to 8 in future updates). Can you reach the final showdown with a prototype version of the GLF Apocalypse?

We'll be adding plenty more content and features as development progresses, so please look forward to it! As thanks for your support, we are offering Zero-Point at a reduced price during this Early Access stage!

Get ready, Captains - your mission to save the Star Federation starts now! Ad astra!

So far from what I played it is exactly how the game FTL feels it isn't a carbon copy of it and to be completely honest I like how hard the game is! You can overclock your systems in this one versus FTL and I do like the little 3D aspect of it. One thing I do have a little trouble with is the pacing in the early stages of the game it is a little hard at first for newcomers who aren't used to a game like this so I hope we can see a good tutorial battle in the future to help with that but other than that I got nothing bad to say about this game. FYI to all I got the game for free from the developers and being completely honest in my review, I do enjoy FTL and a game like this does meet the tickle that I got when I played FTL!

It's not awful but it is bland and generic. It's impossible to recommend this game.

Why not? It promises to be FTL in 3d. With a 3d ship interior and 3d model crew moving from station to station. It looks fun but it isn't. It's much less than "FTL in 3d". What it is is FTL's core game mechanics but without all the nice touches that elevated the experience of playing and suffering in FTL. The part that is fun is the weapons and combat/targeting, upgrading ship systems, traveling from point to point etc. The new 3d gimmick plays much worse unfortunately, and other additions are few and of mixed quality. I don't mind FTL-like games existing. Doom-likes and rougelikes, or metroidvanias. I sometimes want more of the same. But this is considerably less of the same. How? Towards the end of development, subset games hired a professional writer to go over event text and dialogues, and it shows. Even though the story and writing is simple, it is GOOD!. In Zero Point, everything you read is boring and mundane. FTL mods put more effort into writing. Then there's the music. It's not bad but it's generic. It does nothing. FTL paid attention to color-blindness, Zero Point makes zero…

Received a review code for this game, reviewed an hour last night. Summary: lots of potential, good style and challenging gameplay in a clean, concise package. However, in its current state in early access, the difficulty curve is extremely steep and RNG plays hell with starting runs. I've had several runs start and end on the very first ship I encounter because they spawn with weapons that outclass the starting kit. It's like FTL but without the progression mechanics. One of my biggest gripes is the inability to control the game's volume, as the game is missing a volume slider for both game volume and music volume. Verdict: support the devs so they can keep adding features and polishing the game up. It's got potential but limited replayability in this current early access state.

Thanks for the review code Studio Zero! There's definitely an adjustment going from FTL to Zero Point. 3-D graphics are nice. I'm still working on figuring out the UI for power allocation for primary systems and I'm unsure if sub systems, do they require reactor power? That'll come with more game play. The only con I have for this game is that I'm unable to window the game for streaming. It seems like it's only full screen. Bottom line, it's a lot fun so far. It's just going to take more game play to figure the ins and outs of events, which weapons do what, limitations, and power allocation. It was the same thing when I started FTL years ago.

EDIT - changed review to negative... nothing added, nothing changed, nothing to see here. Don't waste your time. While this is admittedly another FTL clone that is ultimately inferior it does replicate much of originals charm and so I will narrowly recommend. However, I will change my review to negative if the developers fail to - relatively quickly - implement new features that set it apart from the game that inspired it. I like the 3D elements and how you can interact with the environment like stoking the ships pet or opening the doors by clicking on them. I'd like more fun features involving that. I'd like more away mission scenarios, teleporting to abandoned stations, ghost ships, mysterious mining outposts. Maybe even simple planetary away missions to make exploration interesting. I think the writing is pretty good too which is important as this has been lacking in other FTL clones and the multiverse mod. Basically the game is good but it needs a lot more to sustain my interest
