Salva takes his boat out on what seems like a routine fishing trip, but just as he’s about to catch a glowing fish, an earthquake strikes. He wakes up with amnesia in an unfamiliar place, with no idea how he got there. As a thank you for saving both him and his boat, Salva decides to catch fish for his rescuers. It soon becomes clear that almost all the ships have disappeared from this world, and the strange fog blocking the surrounding waters may be connected to what happened. Although the game’s world initially gives the impression of freedom, progression is actually quite structured. You gradually unlock new areas as you follow the story, while the fog blocks off most of the world and prevents you from simply sailing wherever you want. As a result, exploration is more or less linear. You follow objectives while navigating narrow canals and slightly more open stretches of sea that are still restricted on all sides. Movement is tied to your ship, which has two forward speeds and one reverse speed. Cute game to spend some time and chill :)

Gorgeous game, like Dredge but cozy. Recommended!

(Steam says 16 hours. It was about 6. I left the game open by accident.) Shippin is one of those games that feels welcoming from the very first minutes. The art, the sound, the way the mechanics are introduced, everything invites you to just go out and explore. You learn how things work organically, without tutorials shouting at you, and it's simple and fun the whole way through. The highlight for me is the game feel of controlling the ship. Catching wind currents and using the double gear to whip around corners feels fantastic, and movement in general is just genuinely fun to use. That alone carried a lot of my playtime. There's more collectathon content than I expected, and it works surprisingly well as a second reason to keep exploring the map. My one complaint: recovering an ancient relic or artifact feels mechanically identical to picking up wood or gold. I wish those moments had a bit more weight to them. The game also has a bunch of minigames, some more entertaining than others. The dice minigame in particular felt like overkill for what that scene needed, with more rules to read than anything else in the entire game. Where the movement stumbles a little is in…

I loved this game. It’s really chill, but also pretty involved, so you feel like you’re actually playing something worth your while. Super recommended. The perfect game to play after work!
