About WILL: Follow The Light
EXPLORE A STORY OF FATHERS AND SONS
You play as Will, a lighthouse keeper on a remote island in the northern seas. The story begins during one of your typically solitary shifts when an unexpected radio message shatters the routine. A sudden disaster has struck your hometown, and your only son is missing. Determined to find him, you must set out on a quest aboard your sailing yacht, Molly, navigating the treacherous northern seas. The harder you search for your son, the more questions arise. What hidden truths lie in your bond with your own father? Where is your beloved wife? What has happened to your family? The answers are scattered across the unforgiving northern environments you explore — an abandoned island accessible only by sea, a mountain range traversable by dog sled, and your home now standing among ruins and accessible only on foot.Through the journey, you discover and confront truths about yourself, whether you’re ready for them or not. Players appreciate the atmospheric storytelling, compelling character development, and surprising plot twists, with some comparing it favorably to Life is Strange. However, common complaints center on the restrictive, linear gameplay that feels more like a guided walking simulator than an interactive experience, along with frustrating puzzle design, technical bugs that block progression, and a story that, while occasionally engaging, can feel predictable and poorly structured with narrative inconsistencies.
A clear recommendation for fans of first-person adventure games with light puzzle elements. The scenery is beautiful, and the atmosphere is immersive. The sailing and dogsledding sequences are particularly enjoyable. However, you'll spend most of your time solving a variety of mostly interesting puzzles to progress the story, and there is a certain amount of repetition. I also enjoyed the narrative, although I'm still not sure I've connected all the pieces. The soundtrack complements the experience perfectly, and the voice acting is solid. I only have one minor criticism: I would have appreciated a few more hints for some of the optional puzzles.
I am thinking in particular of the graveyard puzzle.
So, once again, this is an easy recommendation if you're looking for a narrative adventure about self-discovery and father-son relationships. If you're expecting a sailing simulation, however, I'd recommend waiting for the Free Sailing Mode update, which is currently scheduled for Q4 2026.2 found this helpful
I think is too short and a known bug when doing a puzzle for a hand light. All other is great, beautiful!
Great storyline and visually stunning definatly a must play A+++
it is not 10/10 but it has fun sea ship operation mechanics, meditative gameplay and yes, sometimes a bit borring pace. but if you like not complex puzzles and ok with a bit clunky gameplay than this game is ok... however I would recommend buying with 40-50 % discount.
Nice for an indie game. Couldn't solve some tasks by myself, so googled them instead of wasting time. Sailing mechanics are nice, but there are much more bad gameplay mechanics in the game. And I didnt get what was that in the middle — some kind of Silent Hill ♥♥♥♥. What it was about? Did Will just get injured in the head by the boom?.. I need more answers!
A vision not fully realized but still enjoyable from beginning to end. The story was well thought out and didn't overstay it's welcome. I enjoyed what I played. The only let down was I felt like the devs had bigger ideas than what they could pull off due to either skillset or perhaps just time. For example, the sailing is pushed kinda hard in the trailers and screenshots but it is completely skippable because it doesn't serve a purpose beyond transitioning you from one level to another beyond I think 2 sections. They built the water and the boat that work quite well then it falls on it's face because there's no reason to have it to the point where I think they realized this too and allow you press a button to skip sailing altogether. A shame really because that was one of the things that I was quite interested in. The game ran pretty well and I didn't experience any crashes. Very minimal bugs. The only real notable thing is that the subtitles don't always match what characters say or the notes you find don't match text you pull up to read more clearly. Doesn't impede enjoyment. Sometimes I felt like the levels didn't blend together as well as they could have which took…
