Summer in Mara

You can't rebind the controls. As a keyboard/mouse player, that's an instant 0 out of 10 for me. Useless.

We got this game to check it out before we bought copies for our kids to play, and it looks like a lot of fun, but I can't remap the keys to be able to play it any length of time with out issues from my carpel tunnel :(

For me this game hinges right between recommending it and not at a solid 5/10, but I will give it a 0.5 towards recommending it just because you can commit arson by taking a torch and burning all trees and bushes you planted on your island. But why is so divisive? Well, the game grows to be a shallow time waster, drowned with narrative fillers via tedious fetch quests, meaningless exploration, shallow production/farming system and poor gameplay directions. I will start with the positives cuz they are easy to cover. The art style is nice, it has that cartoony look to it, especially the animated cutscenes and the loading screens pictures. Characters are interesting, most of those you interact with have unique designs and if you get to know them, they have interesting backstories. Controls are fluid enough with the exception of diving, it also has endless running, with stamina being shared by every activity you do (ofc heavy tasks like mining drain it more). The story is alright, it is one of those environment saving ones, where a bunch of evil ppl want to lay waste of the world you live. Visualnya sangat cozy dengan dengan dunia yang menuh warna cerah, soundtrack sangat menenangkan. gameplay yang dibawakan sangat menarik dari bercocok tanam, mining, memancing dan membangun dibuat dengan sistem yang tidak ribet. untuk alur ceritanya sendiri bagus, plotnya yang diambil tidak terlalu berat. untuk ekspolari diawal kuakui menarik tapi lama kelamaan memang agak bosan, terasa agak kosong mungkin kalo ditambah misteri, puzzle atau kejutan lain disetiap pulau akan lebih menarik. tapi balik lagi ini game memang ditujukan untuk santai tanpa memberatkan pikiran.

This is a fun farming/crafting game. You start on your home island and once you repair your grandmother's boat you can sail to many islands to buy and sell stuff to make to upgrades your island and please the island spirits. I recommend playing with a game controller for ultimate fun.
