✦ AI summary

Merchant of the Skies is a cozy trading game with simple mechanics and nice pixel art that some players find relaxing, but many find it becomes boring and repetitive quickly due to shallow gameplay loops and a lack of engaging depth. The tutorial inadequately prepares players for the core experience, and quality-of-life issues like a redundant skill point system and repetitive music detract from what should be a compelling trading journey.

Not recommended Sep 4, 2026
The tutorial covers only the surface level of things and just drops you into the game that's very shallow, simplistic but its very boring and repetitive. You buy things and sell products from different islands while managing quests/tasks, slowly expanding stock, ships, island & production. But its just not fun at all and honestly gets boring fast. Doesn't help that there's just one primary looping music track and while the pixel art is nice, nothing memorable about the world. If I'm compelled to write a review within the first hour, it's not a good sign. Hard pass. EDIT: Having completed the entire campaign, it tries to tell a story of trade and prosperity, but with how the gameplay is, the entire thing just falls flat and uninteresting.

It's a very cozy game about trading. It surprised me when I discovered I was able to create bases and make some autonomous routes.

Great game. Mechanics are simple to understand and the price system is easily rewarding.

they give you skill points that are worthless unless you find whoever to unlock skill to use points, why not just make it so we had to just talk to the person to get the skill instead and just remove the skill point system? waste of time and makes it so i dont want to play or even grind.

Very repetitive and simplistic trading sim.
