Tunguska: The Visitation - Final Cut

I'm nowhere near done, but I'm pretty blown away. If you're like me and desperately searching for that old stalker hit without just going back and modding the trilogy, this will mostly scratch the itch. If you find it on sale, even better. Plus you've got one of the most sleep-deprived solo devs I've ever seen. Man's working on the sequel, still dropping patches/content for this game in tandem and the man seems to respond to pretty much every steam post... which tells me the dude's passionate about what he's making. The story, vibe of the world, and general gameplay is on point for feeling like the old stalker games but the combat will feel lacking. Not because the guns feel bad, if anything this gunplay might just be an improvement over unmodded stalker... but because enemies are pretty predictable and don't really have that idiot savant ai that can keep you on your toes. Human npcs seem to just get into cover and shoot at you, sometimes moving to get an angle on you but usually just hunkering down, and the mutants mostly just bum rush you in a straight line. An indie love letter to the Stalker franchise. Definitely hits the vibe but the main quest looses direction towards the end. I would still recommend to play it for a few hours if you are into these kind of games.

Very fun but lots of bugs. Recommended bc it's cheap. Main issue is that bc of the far away 3rd person aiming system, you can't move much where you're aiming at without the camera (and your scope) is interrupted by trees/walls/roofs that are above you, which makes you shoot at that instead of the enemy you've been aiming at. Some recipes for items are random loot drops but they never dropped for me, and not even end game things, like the second stamina recovery item never dropped. Fortunately, you can just google it and mix the ingredients and still get it BUT, if you don't have the actual recipe it means you have to do everyhting manually. This means that crafting a recipe you have takes 3 seconds while crafting one you don't have takes a minute and you have to manually check what you need. Also, the dynamic for gaining favor for the different factions isn't slow per se, but it is so easy to finish the game before getting there that all the end game items will be unlocked after the main campaign, and there isnt much to do after so it's wasted potential.

Takes a little to get into but very much so worth the struggle. The loot -> sell -> loot feedback loop is very good.
