Lootbound

Lootbound looks like a well-crafted representative of the roguelite genre with an emphasis on tactics and loot management. The rotating inventory, item auras, and separate equipment for each companion promise a deep build-crafting system. Self-reliant allies reduce control but speed up combat. And the mechanic of choosing Guardian parts and dice rolls for rewards adds D&D elements that set the game apart from its competitors.

A very fun version of this sort of rogue like/lite/etc.

The game is very repetitive and slow. The companions you collect through a run are essentially passives, since you don’t control or target their actions. Most of the game is spent watching, not playing. The game has good bones though! Adding meaningful interactions in combat where the game is otherwise just a lightly interactive movie would do wonders to make this into a fresh and tactical experience with a loot-management secondary loop. But if the game stays a “watch pixel allies attack slowly simulator” it isn’t worth your time.

The game is a nice roguelike, not too simple yet not too complex. There are 4 characters, each one with a different class: Warrior, Witch, Bard and Paladin. Starting a run will let you choose one of these 4 characters, getting some of their lore, and you'll be able to find 2 more companions along the way. Each character can be equipped to deal damage, support other characters or simply tank/debuff the enemies. There are 3 biomes with a range of enemies for each one, and you proceed forward by defeating said enemies and managing your inventory to maximize the stats you get from the items. After completing a biome, you will have to choose one of 2 components for each piece of the boss, basically deciding early on what its strengths will be so that you can adjust mid-course your build to have the best chance at beating it. There are hundreds of different items, each with different effects and buffs, so even if gameplay-wise the loop could feel repetitive, each run is different from the others due to the equipment that you can find.
