Frontline: Panzers & Generals Vol. I

each and every game in the series so far has improved from the previous one, with this one been add by me for testing, the developer is quick to add and amend / fix anything found and is easy to work with and implement any suggestion and request as long as it's reasonable and doable and tbh needed etc by the players who ask for it. i'd recommend this and all his games as you can't have too many hex based war games in a collection and for the price, a welcome addition for anyone who love the type, easy to play, each one adds more and more from the start and re playable with plenty of different types on weapons and units to choose, maps aren't the biggest, but plenty of scope for different play styles and approaches and not just a tank fest with more than a few options, once you learn one game, the rest are slightly different but the core is the same, so easy to master and enjoyable for a weekend or longer play depending of your settings and ability.

PROS: + old-school turn based strategy + replayability + unit types + good price + sandbox CONS: - bugs (for me: cant disable music, save/load does not work properly) - graphical glitches - no core units - no workshop - can play only German CONCLUSION: 7/10 Im hardcore PZ1 fun, so i have fun to play it. If I can play as Russia or other nations and if it has a workshop it should be 9/10. An excellent tactical wargame, especially if you use the scenarios but the sandbox mode is solid too. Expect to need a balance of weaponry/units to accomplish your goals. This is one of many Frontline wargames and i recommend every single one of them.

This is easily the best strategy War Game since its predecessor - Panzer General II.

Excellent game overall for the price. Decent strategic decision making required. Large amount of scenarios during different years (39-45). Easy to learn but difficult to master.
