The Sinking City Remastered

there are some false choices, but as a detective noir it works. players who are susceptible to visual effects, this game can be SEVERLY nausea inducing, and there's no way to disable the effects.

The atmosphere is great. The story is good. The game play is meh. Start a new case mark it on the map run over there then kill some beasts. Then find a clue mark it on your map and yeah that's about it over and over until the ending. Id say its worth getting on sale. Play it on a rainy evening with a chill in the air.

the game is a stuttering mess

This game is boring as all get out. And super janky.

I'm just 10hrs in and I have just focused on exploring and side questing so I'll come here later and update this review. For now, what I can tell is the game looks like a very good draft with a lot of potential but it gets repetitive very fast. Talk with NPC, get quest, go to a Infested Area, search for one item, quest complete and rinse and repeat. I'm going to keep playing because I want to follow the story, because gameplay-wise there was no hook for me. I know the game was developed under a lot of troubles and legal disputes but it looks like it is a half way project that needed to be released. I'll give you examples, the areas you'll explore are the same the same model with little variety, when psychosis hits you get the same 6~7 (hehe) visions, so far I encountered 5 enemies, and 3 of them are the most common to find. What is to like? Story, atmosphere, and the chance to interact with H.P. Lovecraft universe. It performs well for most of the time but in some areas it gets laggy caused by some fog assets.

Something is fishy about this game.
