Tackle stealth raids, brutal ambushes, and desperate defenses across iconic locations with authentic weapons, vehicles, and a cinematic 1968 atmosphere.
Key Features:
- Two story-driven campaigns – fight the war from both perspectives: U.S. Special Forces and the North Vietnamese Army.
- Authentic combat scenarios – ambushes on the Ho Chi Minh trail, raids into Cambodia and Laos, bridge defenses, and urban battles during the Tet Offensive.
- New era, new arsenal – wield iconic weapons like the M16, AK-47, RPG-2, M60, and M72 LAW, and command vehicles such as the T-54, M113, and Patton III.
- 4-player co-op multiplayer – tackle missions together with friends. Men of War is affected by the GameSpy shutdown on the 31st of May. You can continue to play the game through LAN, DirectIP and GameRanger.

As a long-time fan of the series, I have to admit that Men of War: Vietnam is my least favorite entry. The Vietnam setting had enormous potential and the atmosphere is genuinely immersive, with dense jungles, iconic weapons, and a soundtrack that fits the conflict well. Unfortunately, the gameplay never reaches the same heights as previous titles. The campaign relies heavily on small-scale infantry engagements, often giving you very few soldiers while throwing overwhelming odds against you. Rather than feeling tactically challenging, many missions become an exercise in trial and error, forcing constant quick-saving and quick-loading. Combined with inconsistent AI and questionable mission design, frustration often replaces the satisfaction that defines the best games in the series. The core Men of War gameplay is still there—Direct Control remains as enjoyable as ever, and there are still memorable moments—but it feels like a step backwards after Men of War, Red Tide, or even Faces of War. If you're a fan of the series, it's worth trying for its unique setting alone. If you loved Assault Squad 1 & 2, you'll probably hate this. Its more like Commando's, limited troops, you work with what is given to you kind of like check points giving X number of re-enforments. Also if you hate stealth missions, you'll hate this.
I guess they are trying to simulate not being able to see anything in the jungle? Problem is, you can't see anything. Not as fun as the other MOWs.
Great game for its time. Would absolutely pay for a good remake. This is how MOW games should be regarding, mission design and number of units. Gates of Hell developers should take notice.
