Between the Stars is a space action game with RPG growth and real time combat that places you at the helm of an interstellar cruiser. Your mission will be to protect civilization from the Children of the Sun, a faction that dominates border planets and seeks to expand. In order to undertake your mission you must journey across the galaxy, face new challenges at each warp jump, and make difficult decisions that affect your ship, crew and the universe around you, while upgrading your ship's equipment and fighting in battles to survive.

A heavily flawed game, that I still enjoy. I get why it has mixed reviews, it may deserve a negative overall. But this game has soul. I recommend it at 15 bucks or less. Short pro/con lists [b]Pros:[/b] - Fun if easy combat - Quality writing - Good ship designs - Generally good art [b]Cons:[/b] - Poor fight design, specifically in regard to story missions - Poor weapon balance - Technical issues regarding story choices and dialogue - Poor but workable camera - No sense of scale The gameplay is simple, pretty easy if/when you realize what works and run with it. Even if you just go for what looks cool, don't expect a hard game. Weapons are poorly balanced, while they can all work, and even be good, the disparity between the main cannon lines and every other weapon type is staggering. While workable I gave up on running a missile boat because it didn't [b]feel[/b] as good. There are many times in the story where they put you in an unwinnable, or unwinnable until the dialogue play out fight where an invincible enemy monologues at you while eating nuclear missiles for breakfast. Don't turn a cutscene into an unwinnable slog of bad gameplay and exposition, The story was well writte…

The game has potential to be fun, but the initial pace is way too slow. I simply do not have the time for a game this slow paced. But thats me im getting old to wait. Still recommend the game. Combat is fun and the visuals are pretty good.

It's a fun game and if you can get it on discountt, under 20, I think its worth the money. However, I recommend having a joystick, it helps dealing with the controlling the ship.

Tried to play the prologue and here was no way to progress the quest after arriving at the quest location. After far too long trying to find anything to progress the quest going back and forth from the quest start to the target location, flying all around the allied base to find anything at all, I just blew up the whole place. 0/10 boring game with poor quest design and clearly bugged from the start.
