Never played such a terrible detective game. The gameplay is awful, the production feels incredibly cheap and unfinished, and the developer’s self-satisfied attempts at planting “clever” little references are painfully unfunny. What I hate most is that the so-called deduction has no real logic behind it. Instead of reasoning from the evidence, you are forced to follow the developer’s bizarre and completely arbitrary train of thought until you happen to guess the answer they want. I absolutely despised this game.

Great indie investigative game from China about several murder mysteries in a small Chinese city (and some wacky extra things you can discover). The interface is a bit janky (particularly the note-taking) and some translations are off (tenses and genders as you’d expect from a language without them) but the creator’s intentions come through. The cases are interesting, with most characters having hidden motivations or connections, and the victims usually having several enemies. There is a lot of information and it’s a challenge to pare it down to what’s relevant and dispositive, particularly when juggling multiple suspects. As you go on you find characters from previous cases being alluded to, and to solve some later puzzles you need to go back to earlier cases. The cultural differences were interesting, though this made some clues harder to understand (eg the meaning of a golden toad). The cases were almost completely text, which honestly made them easier to deal with. There are probably better ways to search and organize the information but it’s forgivable given the game’s indie status. If you love detective games, this is amazing. Sometimes really hard! I love those games where you have to take notes and review every sentence several times, abolutely great game, highly recommended. They also did a english re-translation in 2026, so if you read a old review complaining about the translation, that is fixed now, really shows the love the dev put into this game, optimizing it even 4 years after release!
