Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE Plus

This game deserves more love, imo. It's a great detective game!

As a veteran of this developer's work, it seems like they really broke out of their shell to give us cases that they've been wanting to try but could not with the Danganronpa series. Each case (with the exception of one) had interesting elements to it and made me excited to uncover the truth. The mystery labyrinths all vary, however I'd argue that the QTEs and the rebuttal showdowns are a bit comically easy. The fortes of the main cast made the game even more immersive and interesting to play; each skill added a new flavor to the case. I would say, there are some loose ends in each case that I wanted answered, but since this game is so complex I was okay with not getting those answers. This game was also relatively easy to achievement hunt, especially compared to the Danganronpa counterparts. Although I would NOT compare this to Danganronpa, there are several elements that make the game feel like it's part of the same universe. I will say, the ending has been done before by a Danganronpa game, which if you've played at least one you'd know how those end. I love this game. It has an amazing story and I love most of the murder cases in the game. I also like that each detective has a unique ability they can use to help them solve mysteries. I def recommend to lovers of detective games

I liked the main story expect for the epilogue. The main mysteries were fun to solve and the game mechanics were okay. However, I had no investment in the characters since we do not spend that much time to them; therefore, the emotional impacts did not have the effect that it was intended to have. The requests were dull and I just decided to stop doing them. It was just padding. It made me question why the game was 3d and semi-open world when it does not feel like the game took full advantage of its world.

Really enjoy the game. Good storyline, characters, and pace. There are 5 cases (3 of them are interesting). Each case flows really well leading up to the main story.
