Corto Maltese - Secrets of Venice

This is the only game that I will ever play. It has so many cultural references! Just like Hugo Pratt's writings. Highly recommended for all true Corto Maltese fans.

OMG, this is ogly game for last years... I have one habit is a finish all of that I try to start. I have been finishing this game for 1.5 years cause I set up and deleted this game again and again. Luckily I've done it - I have finished this game. If you cant create something special and amazing please dont do anything... I regret for spending time with the game.

Did not like the lack of cohesion between the magazine and the mechanical puzzles. Confusing. Unstable engine. Works like a hidden object game with an overarching plot. As you solve puzzles some magazines in your main user interface will get entries added to it, kind of like a clunky quest journal. Clicking on new entries opens up interactable hotspots in enironments. You will also be rewarded with comic book slideshow sections of debatable production quality in lieu of cutscenes. The whole plot is not gripping at all, the game tries to force you to case by poisoning you and having you figure out the magazine as a requirement to get the cure but thats not cutting it for me. The puzzle design is seriously dubious, instructions are cryptic at best and require a lot of fluff material reading that you never know may or may not be relevant to getting this experience over and done with. The art for the game itself is half decent, but it is all very static despite the effort. What does not help is the inept user interface and how the on screen buttons and mouse…

Corto Maltese: Secrets of Venice is Kids up hill’s newest adventure game that draws inspiration from the seafaring comic book character of the same name. Sadly, strong source material isn’t enough to buoy a clunky, slapdash failure of a game from crashing and burning on impact. Secrets of Venice is mostly insulting in its banality and occasionally frustratingly obtuse, and the result is a gameplay experience that is deeply "unfun."
