Stunt Kite Masters VR is just what it says on the box, an attempt at making a rather shallow kite flying simulator for VR, something nobody really wanted or asked for, so here it is anyway. It's by the same guys who did a 2D kids console stunt flyer game that got dumped on Steam as an afterthought, so there's that. It recreates some but not all of the mechanics of flying a stunt kite, but they have the wonderful advantage that this is the only VR stunt kite game on Steam, so until someone (anyone) else comes along, they got the market cornered. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game assets are far from bleeding edge, with lowish polygon counts and somewhat low resolution textures, making this look like it's at least 10 years old. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks poor in comparison to more professionally produced games as a result of their decisions. TLDR: This game made an avid kite flyer out of me. I bought this game for under 2$ during a sale, like 3-4 years ago. I did not know what I was expecting as I did not know dual-lines kites were a thing at the time. I played for a bit and I got hooked. It's impossible to do stunt tricks and It is very basic (pull left to turn left, pull right to turn right) but it got me curious about stunt kites, I thought it was really fun to be able to control where the kite flies in the sky. I did a bit of research and since then, I bought two different dual-line kites and I feel like what I "learned" in about 4h of gameplay translated to the real world almost perfectly. I was able to keep the kite in the air for many minutes, the first time I ever launched one. I also recently bought a quad-line kite. This game created a new passion for me, so watch out, it may end costing you more than a few bucks in the end!

Alright so here's the thing...this is a pretty good simulation of flying a kite. It feels legit. I actually laughed because it was pretty dang impressive.But... you're just flying a kite. That's it. Nothing more nothing less. I paid less than a dollar for this and I guess it ultimately delivered on what it claimed to be so.... recommend?

Haven't played a lot yet, but tested it, works really good, recommend it. Looks good too. One improvement idea: maybe you could add an option that will let the kite fly a bit lower, so you don't have to look up all the time (this isn't the case by the way if you are doing tricks, that will automatically lower the kite). Perhaps a "relaxation mode" could be added, that does have such a feature though.
