To this day, Hand of Fate 1 and 2 continuously intrude into my thoughts even during non-gaming related activities. Something about the atmosphere, the mechanics, the ambience and intrigue these games have always keeps my thoughts turned towards them so slightly. I love the repeating stories, the cards you love (and the ones you hate) that can turn the tides of an entire run. HOF1 was one of the first rogue-likes that I played and as such, HOF2 became one of my favorite return-to titles in my library.1 found this helpful
Overall a rewarding experience once you actually apply yourself to use the right cards/tokens to get the golds, but definitely felt a lot harder and often more frustrating than the OG. However, the difficulty does make for a decent sense of accomplishment once everything starts clicking.
This game is a genuinely unique experience, with a deceptively interesting story told across the seemingly self-contained adventures. If you're interested in both Arkham-style combat and deckbuilding board games, definitely check this out
