Rogue's Tale

I really want to love this game. The game itself would be amazing IF you didn't die almost instantly... every...single...game. Its almost impossible to play with its current difficulty and I really wish they would tone it down or make some additional difficulty level settings because I think it would really shine. I've just had enough restarts in over 100 hours of gameplay to finally say enough is enough and uninstalled this. The addition of the card skull things made this "instant dying" even worse, I feel the game going backwards. PLEASE fix this game devs!

This controls awfully. Yes, it may be inspired by *early* rogue games, but even in 2014, when this game released, controling a game with a mix of num block, character keys AND the mouse was clearly not a good idea. I got too few hands for that.

Can't recommend, 50% out of runs result in death after the first few moves within sight of the stairs. You might be able to get a few levels in and then get pulverized for no reason, or miss a mob 20+ times in a row. Based purely on luck to get past and get some "heritages" under your belt that may give you a few more steps.....if you do buy prepare to see the same character in the graveyard about 500x....not fun.

I am sorry to say I cannot recommend this game I tried many times to like it but even thought it was addictive - it fails to deliver if constant hardcore death is your thing again and again and again gets really tiring after a while to point enough is enough

This game feels like it was made specifically not to be won. There's half a dozen achievements with a 0.0% global completion rate. You will die repeatedly, inexplicably, unjustly, possibly to instant death effects. But it is somehow fun. Has good pixel art. Well worth playing for the 7 dollar pricetag.
