we love queer survival horrors

Everyone is hot and gay (and queerness is impressively never mentioned, simply comfortably accepted in this world). One part PS2-era Silent Hill, one part Persona, and many parts its own thing. I commend the devs for committing to such a bold presentation. Artistically, musically, and atmospherically, this does a great job of blending survival horror tension, melancholy, lived-in environments, and vibrant (and often hilarious) characters. It's very aware of its visual and thematic identities and doesn't shy away from full sending everything. Combat is fun, albeit a bit clunky at times (to be fair, a staple of the era of survival horror this game emulates), boss fights are fantastic, and there are lots of fun side stories to explore (which can affect larger plot beats within the narrative in surprising ways). The writing is a great mix of absurd humor, commentary on interpersonal relationships, and thoughtful character development. A truly enjoyable cocktail of style and substance.

A really charming game, taking aspects of a number of different games and genres and moulding them together into something quite unique. A nice story dealing with themes other games of the genre rarely do, with a charming diverse cast of characters. If I had to say anything about it is flawed, I'm not 100% convinced it's a survival horror game. Sure it has gameplay elements similar to a lot of survival horrors and there's certainly jump-scare adjacent moments, but after your first encounter with new monsters, ammo and healing supplies are just about plentiful enough to keep your blood pressure out of the danger zone. That said it's not enough to stop me wholeheartedly endorsing it, I just recommend horror fans play on hard!

A horror game by and for queer people with a broad, well-written cast of characters and solid mechanics. Highly recommended to all my fellow LGBT+ horror fans.

The art direction, music and world building are stellar. The character design is wildly interesting and the conversations feel well thought out and realistic. This is an amazing horror game. Finally, I have to say that a lesbian who can't get over her ex-situationship is one of the realest plot points I've ever seen in a story.
