Tales of Autumn

Pros: Unique farming sim with raising animals, similar to Viva Pinata where you need a certain amount of area to have a new creature join in. The NPCs are cute There's lots of quests in the beginning Lots of cut scenes for plot A lot of different creatures and events Cons: The world is too big for the amount of decor, making it look empty I can't figure out where to find the fishing guy, PLEASE LET ME FISH I can't figure out how to learn more about the creatures, I'm just talking to them everyday hoping they'll join me eventually The days are really short (I think every farming sim should have a way to increase the length) Its hard to find people sometimes I'm not sure why my carrots aren't growing, its been 5 days Will be playing more to meet new animals, I have so much fun finding new ones. Its def the highlight of the game. Overall would recommend, especially since the price is pretty good! Finished? No Steam Achievements? Very grindy! Steam Deck? I generally don't post reviews, but the developer (a soloist) has been incredibly patient and responsive to people requesting help or needing small bug fixes, and I've been enjoying the game tremendously. Okay, I know, "The developer fixes bugs when you find them" isn't much of a reason to buy the game. Buy it because it's fun. It's another entry in the Stardew Valley genre, only this time you're a rancher acquiring and raising animals both mundane and mythical. There's farming, too, but the emphasis and the charm are in the animals. You also have a pet cat. It says up there that I've played about 40 hours. That doesn't count my time in offline mode. The real number is at least twice that. I dropped a Hamilton to buy this, and I'll get at least 100 hours out of it. Ten cents per hour of entertainment is a pretty good rate for a game.

I absolutely have no idea how this game has just flown under the radar. Charming, rich in story, and perfect in its routine - I am absolutely enamored with everything about this game; the style, the animals, the pacing, the storytelling, the villagers. A complete and utter hidden gem. I haven't had this much fun since Stardew Valley!

In case anyone was wondering it runs just fine on steam deck. I also been using my Xbox controller and it’s perfect.

This game is a hidden gem! I really like the idea of introducing terraforming and animal taming to the usual mix of farming sim play mechanics and I wish at least one of the two was present in more farming sims. Although the village is comparatively small, there's plenty to see and do. In the beginning I thought the villagers would be very basic and bland types of characters (kinda like NPCs in Fae Farm, another farming sim I've played recently), so I was pleasantly surprised to discover that each of them has their own personality and bits of story to uncover as you get to know them better. I like that this game requires you to explore and discover things for yourself rather than showing you all the available new events and quests on the map in advance. Most importantly: you can tame capybara. I am in love. ( T v T )

This game is too cute. Just running around and collecting animals. There seems to be plenty to do and lots of animals to collect-for $10 its really all around a good deal.
