Prison Wars (2023)

It's just a reskinned version of a game by this same developer. Three short levels with a turning mechanism that constantly glitches out so you will be locked in a position while some random convict with a shank drains your health by touching you. 3 short levels, and your reward is being kicked back to the title screen. It's not the worst thing ever, but it's close.

For some reason I have many titles such as this one that all suffer from the same issue: you can't aim properly. Yeah, no kidding. For a game focused around shooting enemies, that sure is a problem. The game is literally unplayable because you can barely aim. The reviews on the store page are so blatantly fake that I honestly shouldn't even need to mention it. This game is among plenty of dysfunctional shovelware of the lowest quality polluting [i]Steam[/i] and should be avoided at all costs. Don't get me wrong, there are games such as this that [i]do[/i] work properly, but if you're sensible enough to read reviews before purchasing games, then know that this one is not one of them. Prison Wars takes a deliberately uncomplicated approach to the first-person shooter genre, putting the emphasis on survival, exploration, and straightforward gunfights rather than elaborate storytelling or complex progression. Developed by BloodRain Publishing and published by RetroScope GM, it follows a prisoner named Floyd as he attempts to survive a violent environment populated by hostile inmates and dangerous bosses. The premise is simple enough to understand immediately, allowing the game to concentrate on moving through prison locations, finding useful resources, eliminating enemies, and locating the keys needed to continue. Combat forms the heart of the experience. Players must deal with ordinary prisoners as well as stronger opponents while carefully watching their ammunition and health. The shooting mechanics are intentionally basic, creating something closer to an older PC action game than a modern tactical FPS. There are no complicated skill trees or extensive character-development systems distracting from the action. It's too buggy. Not worth it even as a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
