Remember the ship fights in Skies of Arcadia? This is that, only bigger and better, and with mechs...but mind that the fights're basically all there is - everything else is basically filler. And that should honestly be enough to carry the game on its own, if it weren't for some insane out of nowhere difficulty spikes and a lot of copy-pasted questing that makes the experience a real slog.

Tldr; buy it for the combat, ignore the story. I am gonna give this game a yes but its closer to a maybe. It took me 54 hours to 100% the game unlocking everything, maxing all my dudes and min-maxing everything to the fullest for sheets and geese. Initially I really enjoyed the game. I made a team comprised of my real life friends and that added a nice meta level to it which I think the devs intended. Seeing the animations, being in those high stress early-game battles and barely making any money while seeing awesome Lego gear in stores early on felt like the grind would never end and I loved it. But after 50ish contracts, you have made enough money to buy all parts and the power ups stop which sucks. You can't have more than one mod on your mech which feels oddly limiting, many things are not explained and the UI sucks when within the ship. The devs recommend controller but I do not. This game was the first to ever make me throw my controller because of the crappy omnidirectional entry points in the ship. It got tiring REAL QUICK. I also didn't like how often you have to refuel. Can I get a tank upgrade? No? Not even after beating the game?? The ending is also garbage. The …

Game's fun. The combat is pretty enjoyable, and customizing the mech AND the team driving it is pretty cool. I also like the timeline style of fighting, makes it tactical in a way without sacrificing the punchy mech goodness. My only complaint so far is
if a pilot bites the dust, there's almost nothing to really denote that. No mood dips for 'close friends', no tone shift, you don't even get a gravestone. Makes teammates feel a bit too detached despite having the relationship mechanic.
Will edit as I go through the game if anything else comes up, but so far very good and I recommend!

The battle mechanism is good. But there are simply too many elements in this game. Don't expect players to learn so many things at the same time. It would be much wiser if the developer could simply make a minimalistic roguelite game presenting the battle mechanism alone, and add stories, worldwiew, grafic, animation, etc., in a sequel. Also, randomly gerated, customizable characters does not go well with an anime styled game, better replace them with fixed characters and spend the technical efforts elsewhere.

its good, its a little short if you want it to be. you can have a great bit of fun with it if you let it snag into you. be smart and you won't lose fools.

I wanna say I've got into maybe just a bit over half of the game so far? So I think I'm at a good point to throw in a review. Overall, I really am glad I gave this a shot and enjoy playing the game! HOWEVER, it is a grind heavy game in my opinion. Not saying it in a bad way, because it is satisfying getting better parts and more skills for your pilots, and seeing the massive change from where you started off. On the other hand though, when faced with a loss or a challenging fight, it hits HARD, so you really should take your time before jumping to the next objective, or else you'll end up with a mech in lots of repairs and a pilot or two in need of medical attention, or worse, LOSING that pilot. No pilot has died on me yet, but it IS important to keep in mind. I think my biggest complaint would be the movement shift / "baton pass" mechanic, specifically for WAVE battles. It is really discouraging to not use them early when I'm only on Wave 1 and already dealing with some tough bots. If I could have one shift for every wave, I'd greatly be more involved in the fight, because a wave could last a few rounds before being successful and moving to the next one. As for minor little…
