✦ AI summary

SUBSUMED has an interesting premise with multiple endings and achievements that some players enjoy, but the clunky control scheme requiring precise floor-clicking and dragging is a major frustration that undermines the experience for most. Additionally, players report getting lost in the caves frequently, which breaks the atmosphere and makes replaying for different endings feel tedious rather than engaging, leading many to abandon the game despite recognizing its potential.

I hate to not recommend this because I think it has promise, but I can't with the current control scheme. Having to click the floor, not the wall, not too far forward, not the roof, just the floor, and drag repeatedly for a half hour is just horrible. the tank controls mixed with rapidly clicking and dragging your mouse backwards in order to move a foot or two made it so that I had to make myself keep playing just to complete the first ending. I can't bring myself to go and play more. I like the idea of having to move your character with your mouse, but I feel it was not done in a fun way here. If anything, it took away from what seems like an otherwise interesting game. The game performed well and I had basically no other complaints, but the controls are pretty fundamental and didn't work out for me.

Happy husband with a family of 3 and a fantastic stable job simulator. Truely incredible. I never ever want to touch this game again.

This game is honestly good for what it is. My only gripes personally are; - I spent so long wandering around in circles (lost) that it ruined the atmosphere for me and I just started getting frustrated. The signs being moved around or there being a sign I didn’t write didn’t scare me it just frustrated me because it ruined my progress. - I expected more. Maybe I missed jumpscares, but I thought that at least when I got the ‘behind you’ sign there would be something scary actually behind me. There’s a chance I missed some scares though. - the first point I made, made it so I wasn’t willing to waste more time returning to get another ending. The idea of spending another 30min or so, however long it should be, wandering the caves getting lost while nothing happens wasn’t appealing. Now, for the things I liked. - the art design, and overall map design was really good! I loved the use of red or lights in the distance. - the whiteboard was fun. I drew an unreasonable amount of.. well.. 8==D - I think the drag and click forcing you to move forward was really cool, even though it hurt my hand really bad. It was so. so much clicking. It forced me to go forward when I really didn’t want …
