Slime Attack: Survivor

I went into Slime Attack: Survivor thinking it was going to be another casual survivor-like where I could lean back, relax, and watch numbers go up. Instead… the game humbled me in front of the internet. At first glance the game feels familiar if you've played Brotato. You run around, fight hordes, level up, and slowly turn into a walking blender of destruction. Buuut this game throws in a bunch of mechanics that actually make you pay attention… which, admittedly, is something I struggle with. Quick things I liked: • XP orbs that become hostile if you ignore them • The build variety is great. • A pirate slime that steals your gold, which you can hunt down later after letting the stolen gold gain interest • Mix-and-match gear sets so you're not hunting one missing piece forever • A shop mechanic where you can literally sell your health for gold • There seems to be a mechanic for "smart loot", where once you buy a piece of gear, you won't see other gear for that slot appear in the shop, so no more wasted rerolls…

With a “survivor” as part of the game, you already know what to expect. As usual, there’s no story, so your first run begins with the only available character on the first map. Each character comes with unique stat boosts and a pet that either supports you or, more often, deals damage alongside you. You then choose your starting weapon, which also comes with varying stats. Characters and weapons are unlocked once their requirements are met. Progress is wave-based, but you must survive the onslaught for a set amount of time to complete a stage. The maps are small, so mastering dodging is essential. Fortunately, aiming and shooting are automatic, following the genre’s conventions, though you can disable this if you prefer. Another nice feature is a separate run button that lets you move away from area attacks that are marked with a red mark on the ground. Each wave increases in duration and spawns stronger enemies, which also yields more resources. Coins are the main drops, while experience appears less frequently. Earning enough experience allows you to level up and gain a skill point, which can be used only after the wave ends. Skill points are used to choose one perk from a rand…

one of the buggiest games I've ever played but that's with controller. seems to work fin with mouse.
