About Ocean Cleaner Idle
When Meerlinda rose to the surface, she was greeted with an awful sight! To her disgust there was a huge mass of waste polluting the waters. She found out that humans have been using the oceans as a garbage dump for all of their history. Furious about the mess, but not discouraged by it, she decides to fix the problem. She embarks on a mission to clean it all up!Meerlinda’s ship Gentle Breeze combines Atlantean shipbuilding traditions with their latest technology. Its biomimetic hull is streamlined like a fish and built from sustainable materials. It is not reliant on fossil fuels as it is propelled by sails and powered by solar energy. It uses nets, traps and filters to collect seaborne trash.Meerlinda uses recycled materials to upgrade her ship. The materials are split into four Tiers: plastic, cellulose, glass and metal. Upgrades help you clean the ocean faster. Some upgrades will collect trash automatically for the idle play experience.

Our Motivation
We were inspired to make our game by a real world problem that afflicts sea life around the world. It hurts and kills animals trapped in it. Microplastics carry toxic chemicals and accumulate in the food chain. There are already millions of tons of trash in the oceans and millions more are added every year. The size of the trash varies from microscopic pieces to whole ships abandoned to the ocean bottom. Most of the trash is plastic, but any material produced can end up there. Unfortunately cleaning up the oceans is not easy in real life. The best way to tackle the problem is to reduce the amount of trash that ends up in the ocean.What Can I Do?
- Reduce consumption of single-use products
- Choose products packaged in re-usable or biodegradable materials
- Instead of buying fast fashion, consider drift shopping
- Don’t buy products with microbeads in them
- Recycle your trash and dispose of it properly
- Avoid seafood, and if you do eat it buy only from MSC certified producers to reduce trash from abandoned fishing nets
- Support sustainable businesses, organizations and governments
- Demonstrate your opinion
- Demand laws to protect the oceans
- Participate in coast cleanups and other local pro-environmental activities

This game has significant issues, bugs, and glitches that make it a terrible playing experience. Spent a ton of time collecting resources to purchase upgrades, and open closing and reopening the game, the upgrades reset with no way to get them back. I'm not willing to spend so much time getting all the achievements just because the game bugged and it takes forever. It's not a fun game, and it feels half-baked.4 found this helpful
Either this game is bugged or the devs have no clue how to do satisfying progression. I'm at a stage where every upgrade costs 15.000, but I'm still here slogging away at clicking and collecting trash worth !!!five!!! bucks. I don’t really enjoy writing negative reviews, and it particularly pains me in this case because the game has such a positive intention around the state of our waters. Unfortunately, the game itself just isn’t very good. There is a lovely core idea, but the implementation feels unoptimized. Graphically, it struggles with different screen resolutions. It feels like it was only ever tested at one aspect ratio, and although it technically supports others, it doesn’t handle them well in practice. The bigger issue, though, is that the game never actually changes. You unlock all these upgrades, yet the gameplay remains exactly the same. Even the ship—supposedly meant to move at different speeds—doesn’t seem to. There’s simply not enough variety, and nothing evolves as you progress. Later in the game, which is where I am now, it takes an extremely long time to gather specific types of trash needed for further upgrades. Quite frankly, I’m just not willing to wait. It’s too much of a grind with no real gameplay to make that grind worthwhile. It’s a shame, because the intention behind the game is genuinely good. But the execution doesn’t live up to it.
It's cute, but dull.
Nice artwork and sound design with an environmental theme which is admirable, an easy to play enjoyable experience.
