This whole series of games lacks a lot of things you would expect from chess "puzzle" games, and the issues still persist here. I do think that the Early USSR Championships is a much more interesting game than some of the other prior ones, as it presented puzzles/situations that required more thought. However, it also didn't really allow me to run through different scenarios of moves, as a lot of times the outcome was not a forced series of moves. A free play mode post puzzle or some more in depth explanations would have been good. There were a few scenarios where I didn't really understand why the opponent made certain moves in response to my moves.4 found this helpful
It's a bit rough compared to the newer versions but I enjoyed it.

Pretty fun chess puzzles from real games and a useful hint button with a nice UI :)
Another BOT.vinnik game. Definitely worth the price if you like chess and history of it.
