Wow, sure love that this game I bought got a new coat of AI slop, that's surely what I wanted when I bought this game. Good job publisher!

I played for about an hour and honestly, I don't see myself continuing. The combat is incredibly clunky. You can't properly lock onto or target enemies, which makes both the combat and camera constantly fight against you and quickly turns encounters into an unclear mess. You also can't manually reload your weapon, which feels like a bizarre limitation for a game built around shooting. Then there are the technical issues. I've already encountered plenty of graphical glitches, clipping problems and animations that look extremely stiff. The AI is also all over the place and frequently behaves in ways that completely break the immersion. I wasn't expecting a AAA masterpiece here - this is more of an A(A)-tier game in my eyes - but I still expected something reasonably polished and enjoyable. There is an alternate universe out there in which this game is a phenomenal cult classic. The mix of slasher and shooter, the bunch of random minigames (Ramen eating rhythm game? A whole 2D arcade shooter?), the cyberpunk setting, the bizarre writing, the random injected clips of flashbacks presented as clips from an anime (?), the loading screen being a literal meme, the moment where your crew of terrorist war criminals sing 99 Luftballons at karaoke during the main quest (the WHOLE thing - not abridged!)... I can kind of see the vision here. Unfortunately absolutely every part of the game is created with such terrible execution and quality that the end result is something like a 3/10. The quirky randomness that wants to be Yakuza SO BAD really doesn't work when you can't write anything with charm or wit or character. The cutscenes don't work when your voice actors are some of the worst performers who have ever recorded for a game. I seriously can't understate how bad the voice acting is on some of the cast: some sound like people who have no acting experience cold reading a script in their second language over a Skype call. I force myself to play this game for that long and why I don't refund this beacuse I buy this game year ago

I rarely leave reviews, so the fact I’m writing this says a lot. This is genuinely one of the worst games I’ve ever played. The game design is awful, the graphics are disappointing, and the cutscenes are painfully boring. How anyone manages to sit through the so-called story is beyond me — it feels dull, poorly paced, and completely unengaging. I honestly struggle to find anything enjoyable about it. For the price they’re charging, it feels like daylight robbery. If I could give it **0/10**, I would. An absolutely terrible experience and a complete waste of money.

I absolutely love the game for what it is. A modern PS2 style game with all the pros and cons. Play it if you like some nostalgia with some magical clunky gameplay. It's seriously fun! It was previously a negative review due to the key art being changed to AI slop. They've changed it back, so I changed the review to positive.
