[h1] An entertaining baseball themed arcade spin off that can feel a bit repetitive after time. [/h1] The first thing to note about [b]Baseball Club[/b], if it wasn't obvious from the description, is that it is not a full baseball game with teams but a pitcher versus batter experience with arcade elements. The arcade elements are actually done very well, with plenty of colourful graphics, encouraging sound effects, and all the bells and whistles you could wish for. The game certainly lets you know that you are in an arcade setting and I was impressed with the presentation and overall feel of the game. The graphics look nice too and the game mechanics are quite easy to grasp with just a few movements of the cursor and timing needed to successful pitch or hit the ball. There are four characters to play with but they need to be unlocked by successfully winning matches and improving their skills. Each character has their own attributes which favour them towards batting or pitching and they can be upgraded using coins won from either [b]one on one matches[/b], [b]challenges[/b], or a special mode called [b]skill shot[/b]. Full price? Hell no. This is, for all intents and purposes, a mobile game. It's obvious from bootup. There is no "RPG" mechanic. It's just "mobile mechanics". Grind. Grind. Grind. Grind for coins. Grind for gear. Grind for chests. Grind for achievements. Grind for players. Grind for outfits. Along the way of your grinding......there's baseball stuff. Hit a couple balls. Pitch a couple balls. Go back and monitor your gear. Check your chests. Grind some more. If you've played just about any mobile game you already understand what I am talking about. It's fun. For $5 and not have to pay for season passes and premium currency........I can suggest it. Just be aware of what you're buying going in.

If you're looking for a baseball game, this isn't baseball. The game loop has you pick a character and equip and outfit them then play against another character. You have three chances at bat to accumulate as many feet in your hits, then the other person has a go, and you pitch to them. There's no running or bases or fielding or innings. So... Not baseball, even if it takes place in a baseball field, and every body's dressed for baseball, and it has BASEBALL in the title. Outside the main game, there are some gatcha elements to unlock equipment, and while that works well, the point of the gatcha game is to make the game more addictive than the gatcha,or else why would I bother playing? Not sure if it gets deeper after the time I played, but I got several successive home runs, and kept winning, and didn't care because it's not baseball. The game looks nice enough, though there are no graphic settings. Plays fine on Steam Deck, but it takes a lot to bore a baseball fan, and this game managed it in 10 minutes.

Best game ever
