Dokapon Kingdom: Connect

Me and my friend were explicitly looking for a turn based kind of RPG game and Dokapon Kingdom seemed to be perfect for that. I also like the graphics, kind of remind me about N64 which I'm super fond of anyway. However, the game feels really really outdated. I wasn't aware this was a console port. So don't expect Keyboard to work. My friend who has more than a capable system (4090) also had startup issues, crashes and insane lags until it somehow finally managed to start up. The game itself feels interesting, but then again also outdated? There's some super interesting mechanics in there, like pranking people you fought, but then sometimes you step on some tiles and the enemies just are 10x stronger and we have no idea why that even is. The UX is not that great to be honest, everything in the UI, navigating menus and making sense of what is even happening is difficult which all leads me to my main conclusion about why I wouldn't recommend it: It's simply too expensive for what it is. We both would have kept playing if it was a $10 game, but in the end this is a game that most play 2-3 times and then never touch again. And for that, there's just so many much better games for $4…

This game pisses me off every time I play, but I keep coming back, so I have to admit defeat. What if Mario Party was a JRPG with equipment, character classes, class upgrade paths, and you can never land on the actual space you want because it's two spaces away but you can't seem to roll any number smaller than 3?

this game made me hate my friends at some point or another. solid fun however

It's like Mario Party meets D&D and they have a kid and the kid grows up to do mass amounts of psychedelics. It's a ton of fun XD

I mean this is just a game im played with my old friends during my childhood, so yeah im bias. Cool game tho. I hate when the bots get mad and then instantly go for darkling

It's fun. I hate it. The CPU cheats.
