It sort of reminds me of the early Sonic titles in that way - the most fun way to play is constantly punished. Since it's scoring my run, it's clear the game really wants you to replay every mission, memorize them, and then the game will shine, but I really don't have the time to do that, so instead I get this really awkward, stilted experience. A remarkable game! Mark of the Ninja is quite the enjoyable 2D stealth game, with a precise gameplay that allows the player to complete missions in various ways. The experience is highly replayable and it offers quite a good balanced level of challenge. The story is well made, perhaps a bit generic but it suits the adventure nicely. What is indeed memorable is the game's art direction, a mix between a comic book and Japanese ink paintings. It's a fun, comic book style game. Violent, stealthy, you get that feeling of being a secret ninja.
