12 Memory Lane

Even though my experience is somewhat ruined by terrible performance and numerous bugs, it is still kinda crazy that the game is free. Beautiful environments, and the plot and storytelling are captivating and hits a little too close to home. One of the best student projects I have seen. Well worth playing.

Short game maybe 1 hour long! This one hell of a story to hit me hard dealing with someone with this mental health issue SPOILERS so I won't say what it is but I'll say in comments. This story definitely relates with me and puzzles I love how it works! So it's read your prompt and figure out what piece fits in the room by filling the correct object and by other clues that fit with the puzzle once you have one definite answer to one puzzle you go back rework what works with which puzzle piece! And this puzzles helps the story making you delve deep in this story!! Not going to lie addictive way to do a puzzles!

Bad optimization for game. Even on the lowest settings at 60 fps it ran like poo poo. It was hitting only 29 fps. I was really excited to play it but they really need to fix how the game runs for others. This shouldn't run that hard or at least try to.

12 Memory Lane is a really interesting little mystery game because it does a lot with a fairly simple idea. I step into the mansion of Henry Villemaine after his family suddenly disappears, and the main thing I have to do is work out what happened by looking through his memories and journal. It has a very quiet atmosphere at first, but there is something uncomfortable about walking around a house where things keep changing when I am not looking. That made me want to keep exploring and figure out what was actually going on. The main puzzle mechanic is what stood out to me most. I have to recreate different rooms based on the memories described in Henry's journal, which means paying attention to furniture, objects and other details. The mansion itself does not stay completely normal either, with photographs changing and objects moving around. I like the idea of using sticky notes to keep certain objects fixed because it gives the strange reality shifting a purpose instead of making it purely visual. It also makes me pay more attention to things I might normally walk straight past. The story is probably the strongest part for me. Each chapter focuses on another part of the family an…
