Absolute Tennis Manager

Absolute Tennis Manager has got a huge amount of potential and offers something a little different to the likes of Tennis Elbow Manager 2 and Tennis Manager 2022, which are the leading games in this genre. Like these games you add staff, modify training schedules, improve the training infrastructure and perfect game tactics to develop your player. But ATM goes further, integrating many other aspects of the players life which will impact player development. These include; if the player has a partner or kids, what the player is doing outside of training/matches (including learning languages) and even where they are going on holiday. These additions make for a different type of tennis managing experience, and so this game is one you might want to think about including in your library. It is worth saying that there are still bugs in the game which do impact playability, but the developers are responsive to feedback and are active in improving the game.

First of all, I am happy that a manager game in tennis is being developed in addition to Tennis Manager, which I think has many flaws. This game has great potential and it is obvious that the developer has a genuine tennis interest. However, it is not fun to play in its current form and I requested a refund. I find that the game is very unbalanced with recurring results such as 1-6, 6-0, 6-0 between established players in the top 100. How often does that happen in real life? It's also a shame that it takes so much clicking to get around. For exampel it lacks a simple overview of next week's draw where I can choose for which tournament I want to see the draw and not as now have to see it presented for all tournaments in that category. It goes slowly and feels quite blunt. Overall, there is a lot of polishing that needs to be done and I am surprised that the game is not in Early access because it is not finished or game-friendly in its current form. And that I say with a sad heart and I hope the developer listens to the critique and keeps developing the game.

I so wanted to leave a positive review as there is a good game hidden underneath but in it's current state the game is unplayable for more than a couple of seasons. I have attempted four playthroughs and the furthest I have got was early 3rd year. That one went white screen with error message and failed to reload. I have also had one crash directly after a match and the reload made me play the same match which caused conflict and constantly crashed the game. Another game didn't save at all upon exiting and forced a restart of career. The last attempt appeared have a glitch in the Davis Cup results which occured early in the second season, which again constantly crashed the game, Also the game has a habit of staying logged on in steam after a crash

This game was abandoned in 2022. The game was a great idea and would have been my favorite tennis manager if it worked right. Players have personal lives that help or harm them professionally plus the usual training, scheduling problems, money issues, etc. that the good sports manager games have. It was all very well designed. Implementation without bugs was the downfall though. If someone could takeover development and get it all working together properly it would be awesome. As a broken game I cannot recommend though.

Tried to refund the game, was denied because it passed 2 hours played, which is just a fraction of the time I spent trying to make this buggy of a mess work. After the SQL install it kept giving error bugs until reaching a game braking bug 2 months in... restarted... game breaking bug 2 months in again. Steam disaster curation makes them selling a horribly bugged and ultimate unplayable game. They only cover when it gets on the news like Cyberpunk or similar... those have Red Dead Redemption 2 levels of polish compared to this unplayable game. Thought Steam was better, I was wrong.
