9 out of 10 dentists recommend bruhing your teeth. I grew up on this game and i think it is great but it is awkward at times and hard to understand. Yes i recommend it but it is a hard sell. Its just RISK but with middle earth races, and you are wizards. Honestly hate the new direction of AoW 3 and 4. Not a fan of the Civilizations feel they give.

I learned valuable life lessons from this game when I was young first, you can magic away all your problems provided you have enough mana second, if problem didn't go away after you magic'ed it, just magic it again third, I'm a wizards*xual and my knees are getting weakened by big enough magic tower and lastly, I'm ready to die on "this-game-is-better-than-heroes-3"-hill

I've spent more than a few hours with this one outside of Steam. And even if you can feel its age here, it's still a great AoW game that remains playable and enjoyable. It's a shame that Age of Wonders 3 moved away from "stationary" wizards and focused more on heroes, which you can better leverage around the map. Definitely recommend this one and AoW: Shadow Magic.

One of my favourite all time games, along with the expansion (Shadow Magic). I've done 2 playthroughs on steam, with no issues in gameplay for either. Great storyline, lots of strategy options, highly recommended.
